I went in October 2016 (only offered me months of 2020 below!). Very impressed, my son (10 at the time) got hands on with some of the birds—chuffed to bits or what! Well worth the entrance fee.

I live locally and have visited here many times with my children and now grandchildren
They offer so much education and experience into wild birds and young children are amazed by it all.
Take young children and they will learn to love and respect the birds of different varieties from our country and far afield.
The owls are beautiful and there natural habitat's are in decline.
I have so much respect for people who have a passion for wildlife and keep this education for our youngsters.
Please visit you will not be disappointed

Great day out the kids loved in. Would go again Easy to find. Entertaining for all age groups Plenty of picnic tables.

My daughter and I visited the Bird of Prey centre in late October and we were extremely impressed.
It was freezing cold but there was a nice warm cafe.
The birds are in cages around a large field and there are a good few of them to look at. Very interesting to see them up so close.
The main attraction though is the flying display. Falcon and Hawks flying around your head and landing right next to you, all accompanied by an extremely entertaining commentry.
Hightly recommended if you have any interest in birds of prey.

Fantastic place to visit. Lovely tea room with open log fire. The birds are beautiful and the bird of prey display is stunning. Well worth a visit!

This little place was lovely with a quaint coffee shop and a large number of birds. The display was excellent but our child (3 years old) wouldn't sit still for it. We will definitely be visiting again.

We arrived a little bit early for the flying display, so spent some time sampling the home cooked food in the tea rooms, which can only be described as being eclectic. It's an amazing place with amazing food, with most things dotted around the walls and shelves being for sale, a good selection of bric a brac.
When we first looked around the display area for the birds, we felt a bit sorry for them being caged and not being able to fly free. However, after the flying demonstration we fully understood how well kept and loved these birds actually are.
There is a full two hour flying display with the use of different birds, this kept us captivated throughout.
We didnt quite catch the Falconers name but he was fantastic, funny, knowledgeable and was great with the kids, you can tell he has done this for a lifetime.
It is evident how secure the birds feel around him and it can be seen how much he loves them also.
One of his Owls has been with him for over 30 years and you can see the bond between them.
A great day out and we would highly recommend

Had such a lovely time here. Was fairly straightforward to find and has ample parking there also.
Paul and his wife are very passionate and welcoming people. They are clearly very devoted to their birds.
We will definitely return when in the area.

The centre is really a collection of outhouses beside the old walled garden of Lowther Castle - the seating consists of several wooden benches, and a couple of wooden seats.
The owner (who gives the two-hour show) spent the whole time flying the birds, as well as talking about both them and life in general. Anyone who wanted to was able to hold a bird, or even have it fly on to their hand - everyone who did this seemed to really enjoy it.
Overall, the whole experience felt more real than some of the glitzy presentations put on in other visitor attractions - definitely well worth the money.

I love going here. The pate and cakes are to die for. The cafe is quirky and comfortable with a wood burning stove. Very welcoming and friendly If you prefer higher prices and more sophisticated surroundings, go to the nearby cafe at lowther castle.

I would be surprised if they did. They have a cat aswell as the birds but can’t hurt to call and ask.

Hello, the centre is flat and grassed and access is available through the main gate. Photographs can be taken throughout the centre and also during the flying display. Admission price is £8.50 for adults, £7 for concessions and 5.00 for children (under 5 and 80 plus) there is no charge. Hope this helps.

Sorry, only just seen this question, hope I'm not too late.
I think you would be ok with a wheel chair, it's all one level but you would have to go over short grass to view the display. The cafe is quite small so you may struggle a bit there but there is lots of space outside if the weather is ok. There is lots of level car parking space.
There were no restrictions on photography.
I'm sorry, I don't remember what the admission fee was, perhaps you could find that online if they have a website.
How easy is the centre to find using public transport. Visiting area from Germany and not driving.

Hello, I am afraid there is no public transport to the centre. If you are arriving by train the station is approximately 5 miles away, then you could use a taxi to get here. I think that is the only way.
