It’s an impressive red brick that originates back in 1852. It was built for the person whose responsibility was the safe ingress and egress of ships to the dock.
As a museum it apparently is kitted out as a 1940s wartime domicile with period furniture and then essentials such as gasmasks and ration books.
It would have been great to see all this, but unfortunately it wasn’t open, seemingly due to resource issues.

Is onderdeel van het Liverpool museum.
Op de begane grond zijn een aantal ingerichte kamers uit de oorlogstijd te bekijken.
De tweede verdieping is voor minder validen slecht bereikbaar.

Very interesting house displaying a lot of period items to show how life was for the Pier Master and his family. It is nice to look at all items and see how the rooms were arranged.

A relic from Liverpool's trading past, the Pier Masters House on the northern side of the Albert Dock was the nerve center of the dock.

Although not to sure weather its actually open at the moment The Pier Masters House is a very cool attraction in The Royal Albert Dock complex, a small museum thats like a time capsule, lots of items from over 100 years ago showing how people lived ,around The Pier Masters House are quite a few ststues,the most poignant is The Legacy Sculpture, the most famous is The Billy Fury Statue, its a fantastic building and museum, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

The Pier Head and Albert Dock complex is a really interesting waterfront area of Liverpool that's a joy to wander around ,lots of great architecture, superb museums and a major tourist destination, The Pier Masters House is one such museum,although it's a free museum to enter ,theres not an amazing amount in here ,it basically outlines how people lived a 100 or so years ago ,what I love is the statues and monuments around the Pier Masters House especially the Billy Fury Statue.
It's a very cool museum, definitely well worth checking out if your planning a visit to our UNESCO World Heritage Waterfront Site.

Great to pop in.. quite small but quite atmospheric especially if younger people no idea of that era!

A free entrance to look around this basic but interesting house . Several people caused a people jam on the stairs but everyone was polite .

Located next to Albert Dock, this little house must get a lot of visitors! It shows how the workers would have lived 100 years ago and consists of a few rooms laid out in the Edwardian style. There is no staff on site and only small amounts of information, you just wander around by yourself, it only takes 10 minutes maximum.
Worth a visit if you're passing, but don't go out of your way to see it!

We walked around and through this building, it it very interesting to see how people used to live and read the numerous plaques placed outbound the inside of the house.

I've been researching my Fathers biological family as alot of children were adopted during this time ...I have information stating that My Fathers Grandfather was the pier master and live in this house with my fathers biological mother who was the pier masters daughter ..I'm hoping you may have some old photographs of the pier master and his family .
