Westminster Abbey walk. Not really a walk but absolutely an amazing look around Westminster Abbey.
Our guide Chris was amazing. Her knowledge and sense of humour just made it for us.
Highly recommended.

I did 4 walking tours over 3 cold days in January. All were good and the guides knowledgable, each with a different style. Stephen's acting background made his presentation on the Jack the Ripper walk the best of the four. Be sure to dress appropriately in January as it can feel very cold standing around and listening.

Our family of 5 (parents and 3 adult kids) took four tours with London Walks in December and highly recommend them. Ulrike's Seven Deadly Sins with Ulrike was excellent and engaging - interesting stories with history intertwined . Simon's Jack the Ripper tour was fantastic - a performance more than a tour, chock full of details about the case and the era. All around the University with Rick Jones was also excellent and informative. Our Christmas day Dickens tour with David was a bit disappointing (a hodgepodge of information without an underlying narrative arc that the others had), but there wasn't anything else to do that day, so better than nothing. We want to go back and take all the tours we didn't have a chance to fit in!

My father and I went on this walk today being lead by the wonderful Ulrike, who was a very passionate and well researched tour guide, who’s interested in this subject was portrayed all the way along in the tour! Would definitely recommend to anyone to join her on a Monday for this one and my dad and I are looking to see when my shifts will allow us to join for the second instalment

I can't say enough good things about this company. My family did 3 tours with London Walks (Old London, Revolting London, and the Tate Modern) and they were all excellent.
I want to especially recommend this to families with teenagers. Our 13 year old son would bore quickly if his parents were showing him around but he found the London Walks guides to be engaging and entertaining. He had protested at the idea of going to a modern museum but when the 2 hours was over he had thoroughly enjoyed himself.
In a supremely expensive city, these tours are also an amazing bargain. All 3 of them together cost less than a single 30 minute trip on the London Eye. And we learned so much more!
Highly recommended!

London Walks with ULRIKE - Seven deadly sins, City of London and Seven deadly sins, Westminster
End of December 2022 and January, 02 in 2023
We went to London for a couple of days and booked our first tour guided by Ulrike, the tour called Seven deadly sins, starting at the Royal Exchange ending at Tower Hill (area City of London). This tour was fantastic, Ulrike did a great job.
When the first tour came out as such an excellent event and great entertainment, we spontaneously went for our second tour with ULRIKE some days later in Westminster.
Both tours were really exciting!
Well prepared and well done, ULRIKE!
ULRIKE has so much knowledge on history, is so well informed and she is an excellent storyteller. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We did the New Years Walk in Hampstead, our guide was Mary.
Although the walk was very enjoyable, there are a couple of things that would really inmprove it.
Our group was very large, there were times when we couldnt hear due to traffic noises,we feel Mary should have a microphone(like the other guide had).
Finally when we walked up to Hampstead Heath to see the fireworks it was a bit chaotic and the group split up,there were so many people!
I prefer smaller groups,it is more personal. The walk took too long 9pm-midnight.

We did the Old London walk with Laura. It was fabulous.
Just over two hours, walking from St Paul's ending at Tower of London.
Lots of history and hidden gems. Places we would never have found on our own.

Thoroughly enjoyed my second time virtual walk yesterday "...in the steps of Matthew Shardlake." Excellent host, very informed enthusiast of the Shardlake historical best sellers by CJ Samson - fascinating tour using expert commentary, contemporary maps and modern photographs of Shardlake places in London. In particular the Inns of Court was especially interesting.

The National Gallery is so huge, it's hard to visit it for the first time without a guide - it's overwhelming! Simon's tour was just perfect - 2 hours, and it hit a bunch of highlights. Simon showed us around a dozen paintings and brought each one to life. He pointed out techniques, historical significance, entertaining fun facts. He displayed great insight and knowledge as well as a sense of humor. He was masterful in including all the group members, even (or maybe especially) a couple of bright but unruly children. I can't recommend Simon's National Gallery tour enough!

Hi,
Would you mind telling me who your guide was? They sound great.

Hello, we went on four walks in total (Westminster at War - with Robert, Hidden London - with Fiona, Kensington Royal Village - with David, Chelsea Riverside Village - with Gavin). Each guide was brilliant and held our attention with fascinating stories and was thoroughly knowledgeable about their subject. I think all of the guides are highly qualified and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with whoever you get. We were only going to do one walk this trip but did four — and would have done more if we had the time!
Hi, we're London locals & would like to do the Street Art Tour on Sunday. Can we bring our small dog with?

I agree you need to check with tour company regarding the dog. There might be buildings that will not permit a dog to enter as well as the other people on the tour might object. I personally have a fear of dogs as I have been bitten 2 times and so being near a dog on tour would make me most uncomfortable. Sorry, but once, twice bitten makes one very nervous.
What are the differences in the two beatles tour? I am trying to decide whether to do just one or both tours. Also, how much overlap would there be in the beatles tours and the Rock n roll tour?

I didn’t go on either Beatles tour but the tours I did go on were each so fabulous that I’d encourage you to go on both tours. Their guides are all so expert in their fields that my guess is that you’ll find each tour worthwhile.

Hello guys... i wanna do the beatles tour... how i get to you guys from earls court tube station... thanks so much . What time is the tour. ? Cheers from NYC.

We do two different Beatles tours. And a Rock ‘n’ Roll Tour. The Beatles Magical Mystery Tour goes at 2 pm on Wednesdays, 11 am on Thursdays, and 11 am on Sundays. The meeting point is just outside exit 1 of Tottenham Court Road Tube.
The Beatles in My Life Walk goes at 11 am on Tuesdays and at 11 am on Saturdays. The meeting point is just outside Marylebone Tube.
Full information on walks followed by a dot followed by the word com (extraordinary that we have to disguise this matter - not allowed to put up those three w’s and the rest of the YouRL)
To get to Tottenham Court Road Tube from Earls Court Tube take the Piccadilly Line - the dark blue line, the London Underground is colour coded - to Leicester Square Tube. At Leicester Square Tube change to the Northern Line - the black line - and take it one stop up to Tottenham Court Road Tube.
To get to Marylebone Tube from Earl’s Court Tube take the Piccadilly Line (the dark blue line) six stops to Piccadilly Circus Tube. At Piccadilly Circus Tube change to the Bakerloo Line (the brown line). Take the Bakerloo Line four stops up to Marylebone Tube.
Richard, the guide, will be just outside the exit of the station holding up copies of the distinctive white London Walks leaflet.
The London Underground is simplicity itself - much easier to figure out than the one you know (NYC’s).
Tip: to calculate how long a Tube journey in central London will take Londoners use the “three minute rule.” I.E. allow an average of three minutes between stops. So, Tottenham Court Road Tube is eight stops from Earl’s Court Tube. That Tube journey will take approx. 24 minutes. 3x8 = 24
Hope this helps and good walking.

How do I buy a ticket for the darkest victoria London tour?
David T
لندن, UKمساهمة
Hullo Roberta. Eeezy peezy (as our sprogs used to say). You just turn up at the appointed hour at the designated meeting point and pay the guide then. And hey presto, just like that, you’re on the walk. There’s no red tape with London Walks. No pre-payment, no “booking” - you just turn up and go. The walks always take place (unlike some of our fly by night competitors) - even if there’s only one walker. So you don’t have to worry, “am I going to turn up only to get a nasty surprise, be told, ‘we’re cancelling this walk because there aren’t enough people on it.’” Happens elsewhere - as one star reviews on TA attest to - doesn’t happen with London Walks. You have the particulars for when and where the Darkest Victorian London Walk forms up? The info’s on our site - walksperiodcom - but if you’d like I’ll be happy to email you or dm you those particulars. Just say the word here and we’ll get back to you. Hope this helps. (Good choice, by the way. Great walk with wonderful guides - a couple of them winners of the London Tourist Board’s Guide of the Year Award.)

We have 2 children, 3 years and 5 years. Would it be best to schedule private tours with children this young?
Thank you!

Of the tours I took (Greenwich and Hampstead), I do not think they would be appropriate for 3 and 5 year-olds. There is a pretty steady rhythm of walk a bit, stand a bit, while the tour guide talks about the building or site or vista in front of you. I think that a small child's attention span would be too short for this, especially for two to three hours of such walking and standing. I agree with other responses, and suggest that you contact the company to ask their advice about whether any of the tours are appropriate for children.

Hello, we are considering London Walks tours while visiting during May 27, 28 and 29. We have been told Monday will be a bank holiday and this will be a school holiday week. Will this affect the tour hours? Do you anticipate larger than normal attendance?
Thanks!
