Saw the temple on social media and decided to visit. Walked from Wembley Park station (about 25 mins) and walked down a local residential road towards the temple. From afar you can see the higher delicacies of the temple as you walk towards it. Once you do get to see it upfront, it is incredibly stunning and every detail is immaculate. We were unsure of how to get in (we’re not of the Hindu faith and this was not a local temple) so we felt a little awkward on making the first move. Luckily we saw Rashika and her lovely husband (both devotees at the temple) who gave us a lovely introduction to the history of the temple, it’s meaning and purpose and an understanding of what we would be going to see when we go in. It was a lovely conversation and incredibly welcoming. Made us feel very comfortable. The deities were not on show as they were “sleeping” because we arrived a little later in the day. If we came in the morning, we could have seen the morning ritual. We saw the insides of the temple instead which was still stunning regardless. Very well managed area. High-security (almost airport like) and you can’t take in your own water or a large bag. There is a small building opposite to leave your belongings and the temple staff take care of it accordingly. Was a very smooth process getting in however. Shoes off, of course when you do go inside. There is a dedicated shoes rack for both men and women. There is a gift and souvenir shop as well which is nice if you’d like to buy items handcrafted from India itself.

Rashmika and Nitesh, one of the devotees, was so kind and helpful to us as soon as we got there that she already made our day. They gave us really interesting information about the temple for us to make the most of our visit and added to our spiritual experience. The temple is incredibly beautiful and it’s unbelievable to see all this detail in person and feel the energy of this culture complex. Such an interesting visit, thank you so much to all the staff members!

Went with a friend for the first time and we have had a great experience. Only one thing which we didnt like it that the garden was closed because of some gardening jobs ( maybe this should be done in different time after the the Temple is closed). But in general its an amasing place, amaising staff providindg excelent service!!! Thanks a lot for everyone!!

Una scoperta bellissima durante il nostro tour londinese.
Un tempio indù imponente e suggestivo che ti cattura lo sguardo a lungo. L'abbiamo visto solo dall'esterno ma ne siamo restati letteralmente affascinati!

The place itself is amazing, but sadly no pictures or videos allowed inside, and cannot bring bag in,as a photographer I don't find this place worth visiting because you can't bring camera in and outside there is certain area you can't go, I loved the architecture but very disappointed after visiting it. Staff were strict as well.

Visited late morning on a Friday. This was our first encounter with Hinduism, and we were very impressed. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. There was no formal tour, but people took time to explain the building, and what goes on. The building itself is truly astonishing, both outside & especially inside, with extraordinary stone & wood carvings. We were invited to watch a ceremony and made to feel welcome.
Thoroughly recommended.

Neasden mandir welcomes all visitors. We were a mixed group, some of us being familiar with Hinduism, some no ideas, others with a Hindu upbringing.
There are some ground rules to entering the Mandir, which were explained in a very friendly manner by door security. Large bags must be checked in. No photography inside and a face covering was required (COVID). I didn't have a face mask with me but was kindly provided one free of charge.
You should really book tours but kindly (that word again!) the Duty Manager found us a member of the community that took us round for a total of about one hour.
Like many of these types of places, there may be little rules and traditions along the way e.g. men and women worshipping separately, no large bags inside, no photos. If you cannot respect another culture's customs, traditions and sensibilities stay at home. Otherwise, if you are genuinely interested in seeing, learning and experiencing something different, you will have an excellent visit.

She gave us really interesting information about the temple for us to make the most of our visit. The temple is incredibly beautiful and we had such a peaceful feeling in there. Interesting visit to learn a bit about Hinduism, the world’s oldest living religion, and its deities. It's important to remember that the temple is a sacred house of God and a place of daily worship so as visitors we must ensure worshippers can enjoy the spiritual ambience.

Was there during COVID-19, therefore temple was closed unfortunately, but thankfully to mr. Nitesh Patel I learned so much about this beautiful architectural miracle. Didn’t had a chance to go back in afternoon to explore it a bit more, therefore I have to go back to visit it again. If You’re in London, make a time to visit BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir!

Hi!
Can we show up without booking a tour? It would just be 2 of us. Are there any guides just for a small tour or are we allowed to walk (respectively) around and admire?
Thanks!

You are more than welcome to roam around yourself. We ask that you check our website for details and timings prior to coming. We look forward to welcoming you soon!

Is the bag store secure? Do you get a ticket for your bag? I have an expensive camera and want to take photos outside. I know I can't take anything in.

Hi, the Diwali was already celebrated? Where I can find info about it?
BAPSUKInfoCentre
لندن, UK
Hi. The Diwali celebrations at the Mandir are this evening. You can enjoy the fireworks display at 7.45pm.
The festivities continue tomorrow, when you can see the grand 'annakut' - the first offering to their deities to usher in the Hindu New Year. The Mandir will be open from 12 noon to 9.00pm.
See our website for more details.

Is this in a relatively safe area? For example, if I were to get off at the nearest tube/train station (Neasden) and walk there would this be safe?
Thanks

Your question just showed up. It seems to be s relatively safe area. We took the bus as I indicated. The bus station is right across from the temple. There were lots of school children on the bus.

We will be visiting the Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Neasden on Saturday 17 March, early afternoon. I know there is car parking available at the Mandir, but being a Saturday afternoon how likely is it that we will be able to get a space?
