Visited the venue for all 3 days of the London Film Comic Con event and noticed it’s partially closed due to refurbishment resulting in the event being downsized.
Not much coordination with the early queues as some queued by the National foyer entrance, only to be redirected to the main entrance.
Security check levels varied from quick looks to more thorough searches.
But I discovered that all their eateries are now cashless, so I brought my own lunch for the rest of the event.

Visited as the British Beer Festival was held here. Lots of building work going on so a roundabout route from the station to the entrance which is a bit gloomy, but assume only temporary. When we were there there was plenty of space and everything was well set out. The only surprise was there was only one small toilet block for two huge halls and for a beer festival. 🙄

Seven of us, from the Claygate, Hinchley Wood, Esher area, came here for the first day of the British Beer Festival - the Trade Day.
It was well set up - spaced out, very nicely, with (obviously) a huge array of Ales etc
Excellent amount of seating - benches - in both ‘halls’.
Food stalls were diverse and very good quality, and all the staff were excellent.
A really pleasant day out, which was run very well indeed.

London Film and Comic Con 2023 (By Showmasters LFCC) at Olympia, This was our second time at Olympia and we have also visited the event in Dublin and Bournemouth. If you are largely nerdy and into movies or comics then you shouldn't miss these events. Image Olympia and it filled up with booths selling memorabilia and gadgets and masks and outfits and everything imaginable. Then areas with lesser know film and TV people meeting the public and selling autographs. Then seminar rooms with more famous people and at the top of the hierarchy was Mike Colter and Chuck Norris but if you don't know who these guys are then you shouldn't go. Food was very expensive but my cheese burger could win a prize. I am not a nerd, much, but the whole experience is another world and charming in a quirky way. Check out the photos.

Making the most out of the longest day in summer was difficult by attending the European Pizza and Pasta Show at London's Olympia on 21 June 2023. Its reputation was strengthened and preserved as the UK's leading Pizza, Pasta and Mediterranean F&B show.
A multifaceted concept had been used to exhibit and enjoy cuisines from the west and south of Europe. A Mediterranean diet had long been Europe's best kept secret for living longer and feeling better in terms of how to eat well.
The essence of artistic expression was easy to find in food, beverages and thought via demonstrations/lectures. The thematic concern used for the event was proud in the food that makes everyone life more.
May Pizza be the food of life - they would be no emotion we could not handle. Pizza had been used for occasions of joy, celebration and as a form of comfort. Each emotion had been acknowledged by the baking of @Molini Lario Spa, @Molino Dallagiovanna and #Passione Pizza which was situated across the hall.
The joint partnership of both Greek/Italian EU Project spoke of their love of olives and how olive oil is an integral part of the Mediterranean experience. Their pride in something natural was not easy to overlook they wanted their culture and brand to be respected and it really was. To be immersed furthered by the wonders of the Mediterranean diet and experience their website would be the best port of call - italiaolivicola.it.
Original Churros by Rosita Food came from the autonomous region of Catalonia and its Spanish heritage exhibits the respect they have for this much loved dessert.
Best described for an universal interpretation would be as an oblong deep fried doughnut with hexagonal edges. It was a pleasure to eat and conjured up summer gorging on all things slightly naughty for the body system. The sensation would transport me elsewhere to reflections of laughter and sounds of Summer at British coastal resorts to the wonders of time spent having fun.
The ritual of wiping my lips with a napkin and then taking another for my hands worked as non verbal agreement on how much enjoyed what I had eaten. The smile given to the people I met was an accurate synopsis that said more than 'Gracias' in a heartbeat.
Kristyna of Fizzy Happiness (The Prosecco World) was one of the most attentive brand ambassadors I have ever met. However it would not be difficult for Kristyna because she was promoting a liquid form of luxury. The Springo Collection was synonymous with style, seduction and substance as it had a range of flavours for Prosecco to be enjoyed at such a high level of quality.
After sampling Extra Brut, Dry and Col Fondo, Prosecco Blue Extra had been new found favourites for me to drink. The chart of Prosecco Classification Pyramid was designed to distinguish the quality of Prosecco in terms its taste. Presenting a selection of beverages had not been explained to me with the inclusion of science. It would be a great thing for all wins merchants and stores to include the 'Prosecco Classification Pyramid' to enhance their customers shopping experience which would let them know the quality of the beverages they were buying.
My amazement was emboldened by wine made from Valencian oranges. It was named Tarongino as the Export Manager Gonzalo explained to me. Gonzalo enthusiasm was infectious because he believed in the natural goodness of the product and saw the gap in the market placed his own brand in it to fill the void. Gonzalo was kind and approachable so to discover what he wants to develop next email him - info@tarongino.com.
Pier Paolo of Bottega was a professional brand ambassador whose excellence came from showing me the latest lemon spritz they developed and after that he said to me I should sample the limoncello.
"Bellisma" I said in amazement.
"Ciao Bella" he replied and gave me his company's business card for all drink orders.
Since its inception in 1877 Birrificio Angelo Poretti had kept its sincerity by inviting more people to share and enjoy the experiences of what it truly means to drink bespoke beer. There would not be a doubt in anyone who had tasted this beverage to argue that #BirrificioAngeloPoretti does not live up to its high reputation as the fastest growing on trade world beer rate of sale.
The data and statistics articulate the use of natural ingredients spread delight to its customers and revel in the glory this beverage provides. The best things are always kept simple and par exemplar of hop, citrus notes and malt added to an effresvent carbonated beer.
The Business Lounge held a lecture entitled Pizza : The Food, The Myth, The Legend and Francisco Migoya was the Head Chef who explained the importance of cooking pizza to perfection. @fjmigoya wanted the audience to be captivated in how pizza remains relevant to Italian but it's universality meant that this dish was eaten across the world. It was an ethos Miyoga continued to celebrate in his method of cooking and in his approach to running @modcuisine as a successful business. #modernistpizza had an Avant Garde that meant the dough should rest for longer so that it is easier to knead.
The second demonstration, I attended was entitled 'The Four Different Types of Pasta Dough' and it was a cooking show where you listen then eat the food provided. The chef Stefano Cuccu explained the joys of creating fresh pasta and his aim was to show the audience they could reconstruct the same magic in their kitchens.
The strongest memory I took from this event was that joy remains relevant to the experiences in life and meaningful ways to spend time doing activities you enjoy can help you discover the importance of humanitarian efforts to live on one planet together.

Showmasters comic cons in the UK the staff members are useless and unprofessional also racist they only care about making money and the actors they get are very rude also they overcharged autographs and Photoshots you get a free selfie when you pay a autograph but if a big star comes they won't allow it due to the line of the popular of the actor and you also have to get a ticket to line up and they call up your number so unprofessional they been in business since 2004 and so unorganized over crowded with people got no manors and no respect they are boundaries as well between someone personal space and specially Covid still around unfortunately we have to be careful still as well but of course restrictions has chilled down over the course of years of waiting anyway I never go to this convention again going to this convention for 8 years has gave me the worst nightmares I have my PSTD gone worster and I have mental health as well so is not cool as also I have austium as well but I can control when I can.

The exhibition was summed up perfectly after we wandered onto a stand titled "Sustainable and Eco". It displayed two versions of the same infra-red heater!
Can you tell me about these heaters and their sustainability please? pointing to the marketing across the top of the stand …. "Oh, that’s not me mate, that was for a stall holder who has abandoned the show. I am usually on the local market and the organisers called me up and said "Johnny, help us out mate….. you can have the space for nothing, just turn up! .. and this was a prime stand close to the entrance!!
His market-stall pitch consisted of gushingly how the local pubs are buying every single one he can lay his hands on (really?), how the infra-red sensor detects activity and automatically switches on the heat when someone walks close by. The savings were all on his ..errrr… scruffy photocopied crumpled sheet of graphs... We asked “where are they made?”, he had to look on one of the scruffy boxes and replied "errrr..errr.. errrr errrrr Oh, China”. What about the safety regulations? “Yes, they have passed"..... Can I order them on your website? No, no website, its only me, here, today, I can give you a great deal, make me an offer. When they have gone, they are gone., Look, if you buy now I can throw the stand in free of charge.... The stands are usually £50 .....
I will never every attend again! Utter Dire.
It was like a day out at an end-of-line B&Q clearance event crossed with the old Sunday Market traders reunion. Dire does not even come close! A whole floor of overpriced street food? Three quarters of the event given over to market traders stepping out in front of you, blocking your way "let me clean your shoes sir." ..... "Have you tried our chemical free washing powder" .... Are you a cat lover?" "You look like a dog lover sir” …… Your pets will love our shampoos” “Farm fresh veg contract sir”..."let me clean your glasses for you sir, snatching at my face" .... yes, seriously!
A gut wrenching waste of time and money and an overwhelming negative feeling of being ripped-off and exhausted by all the bombardment by struggling-actors/ stroke sales people . Sadly, your advertising had raised my expectations of a great day learning about cutting edge technology, new design trends and everything eco for our heritage house. Sadly my expectations were high but trashed in 15 minutes. I am now left with questioning myself as to how stupid was I to have been suckered in! This was once the bastion of a great British Exhibition. Once. I feel so sad for the excited family of 5 that we befriended on the underground. They had spent a fortune travelling from Newcastle on the train and an overnight stay. It is true. There is always someone worse off than you but I take no solace in that! “Always wanted to go” they said, “same as us” we replied. Absolutely never again. Ever. Ever Ever. Stay Away.

My husband went to the last day of the ideal home exhibition. We have been before and got lots of ideas but this time was a completely different experience. Many of the products on sale seemed loosely connected to the home and generally it felt like a really tired, hobbled together event that had run out of steam. I won’t be going again.

Certainly with the Horse Show there didn’t seem to be a problem with food or drink, loads of eatery places...but you were not allowed to take any food into the arena.

We recently stayed at the K West Hotel and Spa just around the back of Olympia. It’s approx. 7 minute walk away and just across from Westfield so good for a bit of shopping too.

Hi Jayss,
I booked tickets for the Ideal Home Show and was going to visit with my eldest daughter. I remember the show from many years go when it was great fun. After booking the tickets on the website I took a look at the reviews on Trip Advisor for 2018 and was dismayed by just how bad they were - I wished I had looked before booking the tickets. We were not planning to visit until next Tuesday and I have been looking out for reviews for this year's show - yours is the first. On the basis of what you have written, which is completely in line with the awful reviews last year, I have decided we will not go - even though I have paid £26.00 for the tickets (which the site says are non-refundable). I had also booked parking at Olympia which I have just cancelled (at a cost of £6.50 - which is an outrageous cancellation fee Olympia). My intention is to ask the show organizers to refund the cost of the tickets and I am expecting them to decline. In which case, I will ask Mastercard to do so and will write to them to say that I am in dispute with the organizers. I would recommend anyone who is unhappy to do the same because this really is a rip-off and this is the only way we, the paying public, can stop this happening. I also feel that Olympia should take some responsibility for this matter because it is clear many customers are very unhappy with a number of the shows that they are hosting. At the very least they should not allow the venue to be used by any organizer offering non-refundable tickets, and should take note of some of the, appalling reviews that these shows are receiving. I am really sorry you did not have a good day, but thank you for your review which has most certainly saved us experiencing the same disappointment and a wasted journey - all the way from South Wales. When this happens it is important that we all do our utmost to highlight and publicise the fact to others - through Trip Advisor, the local and national press, Tourist offices and even Trading Standards (if it really is that bad). And, do not be afraid to ask for a refund!
Kind regards
Garry Smith

Hi, to be fair, my criticism was more of a very badly organised cruise show not of Olympia itself.
Olympia is a huge facility that now seems as far as I could see to be split into several smaller halls for varying events. I guess the demand isn’t there for massive shows anymore. Hope you get your money back

I want to visit here on Thursday evening as it's open late for the Eat festival til 9pm. Coming from St James am I right in thinking the tube to West Kensington is the best bet then it's a straight walk about 10 mins. Will it be ok walking this in the evening. Thanks

You would be correct to use West Ken. It will be a nice busy area so the walk should be absolutely fine!

Sorry - thought you meant another venue. Olympia car park next door to exhibition centre. Prebook but it's quite expensive however it's less painful than looking elsewhere and easy access, less stressful. No congestion charge applicable
