‪The Dresser and Linthorpe Pottery part of the exhibition were extremely impressive.
Donna the very knowledgeable staff member was very helpful and had a super knowledge of what was on display.
She was able to convey that the pottery exhibits were the largest Linthorpe/Dresser collections on public display in the world !!! Wow.
Regarding the Egyptian display, again very impressive and interesting.
All in all we enjoyed every minute of our time at the Dorman Museum.
We managed to squeeze in a little time to enjoy the delicious scones and tea on offer in the delightfully quaint cafe.
Well done all round for ensuring a perfect experience.‬

‪Good place for a coffee and cake. Relaxing with nice surroundings.
Can't comment on value as someone else treated me.‬

‪1st visit as I didn't really know anything about this place . Although it's small it's actually really interesting inside. I took my 87 yr old mum and it was a walk down memory lane for her . Taken on face value it's a great place , easy to navigate and not overpowering with facts. The upstairs gallery/exhibition space is fantastic and full of amazing ceramics that should be shouted about . It's well worth a visit ‬

‪Been coming for a while and to be honest there's not a lot here for the kids, the few times they do have something it is quite outdated and the museum closes at weird times (went at 3.40 to be told it's closed) despite what the Facebook says.

Hope it can improve but staff need a revamp too tbh‬

‪The Museum has been modernised and has lost some of its Victorian charm. However, given that Middlesbrough is the birthplace of CAPTAIN COOK it holds some unique artifacts. Also the Dresser inspired Linthorpe Pottery on display is fabulous. Dresser had an amazing gift for design with pottery based on his worldly travels and was way ahead of his time!‬

‪Have just experienced a fabulous afternoon, going down memory lane. Visited with my daughter and grandson and it was so lovely to share childhood memories with them. The staff were all warm and friendly and a visit to the tearoom was a great ending to the day. This museum is close to where I was brought up and I used to visit often. It is so lovely to see that it still attracts so many. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.‬

‪It has been years since I visited the Dorman Museum and I was pleasantly surprised.
The museum has a range of exhibits that cover the history of the town and the area, both socially and economically, wildlife and global ethnography.
The museum is immaculately clean and displays are clear and informative.
The fact that this is a free attraction makes it even better. In terms of detail and depth of display, it compares with the Yorkshire Museum in York but that comes with a price!‬

‪A great little museum. I pre-booked due to Covid restrictions. I was the only one there for a while, plenty of staff to answer any questions. Lots of interesting things to see, good parking to the side and behind the museum and lovely access to Albert Park‬

‪Located right next to the entrance of Stewart's park in Middlesbrough just in front of some World War 2 monuments and statues. Once you enter you don't have to pay but you the staff may ask you to fill out a questionnaire and return it before you leave. Despite the small size of the museum it is easily split into different parts, One section is filled with WW2 artefacts, including old weapons and German clothing; right next to it is a religious section; take a right turn and you'll enter a large room filled with stuffed birds of all different kinds. There's a section that shows life in the 1950s and a small cinema screen showing life back then. Head upstairs and you'll find a section on dinosaurs and early humans and our ancestors, then you'll find a large screen explaining the origin of the universe from the big bang and how the planets were formed. There's a section for kids to play and have fun, including a screen on the floor showing fish swimming on the floor and best part is, if you put your foot on the screen the fish will swim away from it. There's another part showing exotic items from other nations like vases and plates and even a genuine Samurai suit of armour and swords. You'll also find history of the UK in the 1920s showing things like the suffragette movement and Britain's involvement around the world; plus there's a gift shop at the end. While it is a small place, it's a nice place to take kids or go with friends for the day.‬
