After hearing lots of of good reviews & reading good reviews on here we decided to give it a try. Sadly we were left disappointed. Staff were very friendly. The restaurant was like a ghost town, the decor was dated to say the least. Once our food arrived it was swimming in grease which was very off putting. We'd also asked for our steaks to be medium, they were both more well done.

Myself & my Husband have visited this little gem of a restaurant several times since the new owners took over, approximately a year ago. The food is consistently faultless and the service is polite. We have eaten in many places, far more expensive and this matches if not beats them. The owners are happy to try to accommodate different needs and tastes if asked and we can not find fault in this pub/restaurant. We have been for the Sunday Carvery, the special nights (ie Steak Nights) and eaten on weekend evenings from the normal menu.
Give it a try - you will not be disappointed.

Food here is clearly homemade, chef is very accommodating and service is very good. Maybe lacks atmosphere on a quiet night but the food will not disappoint.

We nipped in here a few months ago now, just on a whimsy, having heard good reviews from family. It was lunchtime and very quiet, and yes, it lacked some atmosphere. But the Thai food I had was outstanding whilst my wife's more "pub grub" meal with chips was very good indeed, well cooked and plentiful.
We will definitely be going again sometime soon.

We were a party of 9 people on a Friday evening. We were surprised at how few people there were in the whole place. There was only a family group of 4 with us. Actually the lady in the group provided the entertainment by taking photos for us whilst we were round the table. Thanks Sarah!
What a shame the whole place lacks lustre, as the food was very good and plentiful. The service was also good. If it's just food you're looking for, and not atmosphere, then go there.
