Visited on our trip here!:) Super fun and Whitby ✨vibes✨ 🧛 Our host was Katherine, very charismatic and friendly, asked us lots of questions and had a fun time ❤️Deffo recommend!

An excellent, enjoyable and engaging escape room experience. We loved completing "The Night Watchman" room. Kathryn was a truly excellent host and made our visit a highly entertaining and happy one. A definite highlight of our holiday, thank you.
The game offers a great range of puzzles in an atmospheric setting with an enjoyably macabre twist. Highly recommended if you're in Whitby, or if you simply love escape rooms.

This is a really great activity, do check it out if you're in Whitby. The scenario is perfectly pitched for families: just creepy enough without being too scary. In terms of difficulty it's about mid, I'd say (we needed ALL the clues Kathryn gave us, but they were perfectly timed to have us scratching our heads first). Cannot recommend highly enough.

Thoroughly enjoyable experience for us (couple and son, 14). Support from host was well timed and we completed the challenge of “The Night Watchman” in just over an hour. We were really grateful to be given the extra couple of minutes to complete the challenge. Good level of difficulty having completed 3 or 4 escape rooms before- some different types of puzzles which kept it interesting. A great story based escape room. Friendly, polite and supportive host.

Excellent escape room experience! Great range and type of puzzles. The host Kathryn is lovely and clearly knowledgeable and a fan of escape rooms herself. Was just two of us doing ‘A Curious Case’ and we managed it just over the hour. Clues are given if required and the way you communicate is fun. I would recommend for anyone who enjoys escape rooms and even newbies. My husband was very skeptical but ended up having a blast and just as invested in the puzzles and myself. Thanks for the great time. We will definitely be back to do the other one!

Eskape challenge for 6, we all had a fantastic time, lots of fun. The hostess, Kathryn was soo friendly and we had lots of banter.
The experience was full of fun and included all the party there.
Definitely a recommendation to go when in Whitby!

My wife and I played The Curious Case recently. We were welcomed warmly by Kathryn and we had a pre game chat about escape rooms before she set the scene for our game.
There was a good variety of puzzles in the game to keep us both occupied.
A great ending to the game too and we got out with just under 3 mins left.
It was lovely to speak to Kathryn for a short time afterward about all things escape room as we and her have done over 350 between us.
I would definitely recommend this venue and will be coming back. Thanks again Kathryn!

We’ve just been on a trip to the east coast and booked in at Eskape Whitby for the “A Curious Case” room.
We found the venue easy enough and was greeted by Kathryn who put us at ease with what was expected and what we would find in the room. Kathryn explained the use of different puzzles that we would come across and was our contact point via the tablet and took on the role as the Captain. 52 mins later we managed to escape the room, it was a great way to spend part of the day before we set off to explore Whitby again. Give it a go if you like escape rooms and you won’t be disappointed. 👍🏻👍🏻

As a large group we split into 2 and did both rooms. Everything was explained very well too us and we we given little hints if we were stuck to help us move through the story. We all had great fun doing these escape rooms and would recommend to anyone

An amazing escape room (A Curious Case) with a brilliant and friendly gamesmaster/host.
Have visited numerous rooms far and wide and this one is without doubt up there in our top 3. The welcome was the best we have ever received and just made all in our party feel at ease and excited to get going, definitely added to the overall experience.
Rang to book as less than 24hrs before we wanted to visit and Kathryn was so accommodating and helped us make the spur of the moment decision happen! Our group of 4 was aged between 20-50 and we all played a part and thoroughly enjoyed playing
Would love to visit their other room when we return to Whitby, thank you Kathryn!

Thanks for your question. We do not have any really small spaces in our rooms and everyone that has been nervous about this in the past has been absolutely fine within both rooms. We have found with most people that purely the knowledge that they can leave the room at any time throughout their game can help alleviate some of their concerns. You can do this at Eskape as we do not physically lock you in the room.

We tend to say that due to the puzzle level and the theme of the room (it can be a little creepy towards the end and it gets a bit darker) under 12's will struggle. Saying that we have had as young as 8 come along with their family and have loved it. However, it would definitely not be suitable for a team of 7 year olds. So it very much depends on the rest of your team and your child. We leave this to your discretion.
