‪I feel like this could have been a much better few hours however it ended up being less than half an hour.
One of the volunteers was really lovely, greeted us and explained everything (pointing out that the science centre was more aimed at children - we were three adults) the other volunteer was not as forthcoming. The mill itself was ok but I feel like it could have had a bit more detail within it. As it was, we ended up walking to the top of the windmill reading a few signs and leaving.
Would be internet to return with children and see if it is different‬

‪Easy parking, clean toilets, friendly staff and lots of interesting objects to look at. Green was the mathematical miller so lots of activities based on maths to keep adults and children busy. Lots of children based activities which seemed popular and some families had booked in advance. If you have children probably best to check availability of activities for children.
I loved the windmill, the community garden, the mathematical puzzles and my coffee! Thank you!‬

‪A brilliant place to spend an afternoon. It wasn't a windy day so the sails weren't turning, but still very clear that this is a working mill operated in the traditional way. The views from the top are wonderful, and I feel like we learned loads; so fascinating to see this machine/building from the inside. There is a really cool little science centre too, with lots of kid-friendly exhibits; we were all interested in the life of George Green, the man who proved Newton wrong! The community garden is also very nice, even at this time of year.

There were many knowledgable volunteers on hand across the site, who really work to engage visitors. My two kids got to bag up their own flour/porridge, and did the Green's Quiz trail which they really enjoyed. There's also a really good playground right in the mill's shadow. As a free attraction barely 15 mins from the station, what's not to like?

We will be visiting again.‬

‪The volunteers were great, gave lots of information and were really helpful. The mill itself was working while we were there and it was great to see it in action. The views were amazing as well.
The science centre was brilliant too, my kids loved trying out all the different activities, especially the mirrors.
The videos were really interesting and I never knew the history of the mill or Green before.
The shop sells flour made in the mill which is great as well!
It is well worth a visit.‬

‪Always worth a visit, kids always enjoy it and it's good to leave them a donation. Great playground next door too with a massive slide‬

‪Popped in on a wet October day.

Until visiting we never knew about George Green. A pioneering mathematician whose work didn't get the recognition it deserved during his short lifetime.
More aimed at families with children, but still interesting. I so hope it encourages children into STEM subjects and careers.
Great views from the windmill too.‬

‪Apart from all things flour mill related, those of a mathematical calling may recognise George Green's other passtime.‬

‪Very interesting to be able to go inside a proper windmill. It wasn't working when we were there, but that wasn't a problem, just one of those things, and as it's free to get in, you can't really complain. My daughter, who says she hates science, absolutely loved the science centre and the fact that it was so hands on. The people working there were lovely and friendly, and the food and drink was very reasonably priced. Very enjoyable visit and would like to go back when the windmill is working.‬

‪Going inside a windmill, a great experience when it's running. Also the scientific experiments workshop is very inspiring especially it was the birthplace of the mathematician George Green.‬

‪A lovely site in central Nottingham. We took our grandchildren (8 and 10). The windmill was not working because there was not enough wind but we will try and take them back on a windy day. The attached science centre contained about 15 experiments that I was a little concerned about as my grandson is autistic and can be rough with equipment but they were so well designed as to be almost indestructible so and they were really interesting and caught the children's imagination. There was also a craft session on site that we were invited to join and both children were delighted with the metal butterflies they made. The staff throughout the site were very friendly an approachable.
There is also a lovely playground next to it. All free and 2 hours free parking.
We can thoroughly recommend.‬
