Lovely few hours spent here on Saturday 1st October. Our guide was Micheal and he was knowledgable and so nice.
As with most National Trust venues, all the staff were volunteers and all were so pleasant.

Very enjoyable visit - the guided tour was very good and interesting but I would have preferred to be able to go around myself - I am not a fan of guided tours.
The booking procedure was also problematic - it was not clear that the booking in time was not the entry time to the house - that had to be booked once you arrived, which involved a lot of hanging around - especially without a cafe or anywhere similair to wait. In our case we were expected to wait over an hour, as they had a lack of guides.
This really took the edge off the visit and I hope they sort out these issues, as they are having a detrimental affect on any enjoyment.
I enjoyed the plants for sale and bought a lovely one that is still thriving and the cars and gardens were just wonderful.
With somewhere to wait and/or a cafe, the property would be a lovely place to visit.

We booked a tour for this gorgeous house. Nuffield Place is a beautifully kept, cosy family home set in lovely gardens. Thank you to our very welcoming and informative tour guide, John. Throughout the tour he wove together the story of William Morris/ Lord Nuffield the man homself and the generous contribution he made to medicine. I had no idea and it was delightful to hear all about this amazing place. Thank you

I was so ignorant of this wonderful man. What a legacy he left to the country, really pleased the National Trust has taken on this property with as usual excellent tour guides who really know their subject. Will never look at a Morris car again without remembering the good charitable work that came from this name.

Home of William Morris, founded of Morris cars, who gave his vast fortune to various charities (both medical and academic).
Interesting house owned by a very rich, but slightly odd man and his wife (for example the carpets are from his car plant, stuck together to make one room sized carpet). Having said this they were an exceedingly generous couple as their charity donations show.
Fantastic house guides, who tell the story simply and accurately, without any sort of "political" spin too common in NT houses now.
(Needs a tea rooms !!)

Really enjoyed our visit to the the home of Lord and Lady Nuffield. Booked our tickets to the house the night before the visit although you can walk round the gardens without booking and tickets where available on the door when we visited.
We had a very knowledgeable volunteer guide to ourselves as we where the only ones booked in our timeslot.
The life and times of Lord and Lady Nuffield where really brought to life by our guide. They where truly generous people and gave much of their wealth away.
Considering their vast wealth they lived quite modestly.
The is a small shop which was named by an enthusiastic couple on our visit.
The garden is very nice.
Ample parking a short distance from the house.

We visited the house and gardens for the first time today. The staff were all enthusiastic and told the story of William Morris and his wife with pure joy.The house is not something you would associate with a man who was at the time one of the wealthiest men in the country. He donated the equivalent of £11 billion in todays money to good causes. He was looked down by academics who were happy to take his money.Worth a visit. There are no refreshments served at the site.

This building hides some little known history. William Morris, the founder of the Morris Car company and the richest man in Britain, lived here in relative modesty, considering his enormous wealth. The house contains lots of mementos of his life, work and charitable work. National Trust have done a great job in restoring the interior as far as possible to the state it was in when William Morris, later made Lord Nuffield, and his wife lived here. We get an interesting glimpse of the restlessly active nature of Lord Nuffield when we see the workshop right inside his bedroom - he apparently could never stop experimenting.
The guides on the day we were there were very well informed. Unfortunately the tearoom was closed, but there is a coffee shop five minutes walk down the road.

Not going to say too much about what it was like as the place constantly surprises.
Brilliant volunteers, some very nice touches and quirks to make the visitor feel really special.
Lots to learn about what kind of person William Morris was.

William Morris is one of the country's unsung heroes. He made so much money and then reinvested in society. Wonderful

Hi there
Apologies for the tardy reply to your question
I believe that the ground floor and grounds are wheelchair accessible but I don't think there is a lift or stairlift to the first floor.
There's a link to their access statement on the NT web page for Nuffield Place.
I hope this is helpful
