The 16:00 bus service provided by Arriva (52) is nothing sort of a disgrace. For two nights running now this service has been cancelled due to ‘shortage of drivers’. This now means I, along with many others who work at the Freeman hospital, have to wait nearly an hour for the next bus to get home from work. This means a normal journey takes an hour and 30 minutes instead of 30 minutes. Drivers are not interested and do not want to know. Arriva also have gone deaf. Totally amateur bus company.

The Haymarket was a great area of Newcastle Upon Tyne my twin brother Stephen and I explored on a recent weeks holiday in this vibrant city.
Its also known as The University Quarter as its near many students campuses.
I loved the pubs here ,The Hotspur Pub,The Junction Pub,The Five Swans Pubs to name but some we visited, I also loved the architecture here , The Haymarket Metro Station Building is cool , Church Of St Thomas and The South African War Memorial, very beautiful and diverse structures, day and night this area was vibrant, its most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area or planning to visit Newcastle.

The Haymarket is based in a great location at the top of Northumberland Street, very handy for the Metro, shopping and eating out. It is near to both Newcastle and Northumbria Universities, and also a lovely historic area, with the South African War Memorial and The Church of St Thomas the Martyr. It is also close to Newcastle Civic Centre and the bus station is located in the area.

It's definitely a must. Love the building it is so underated. Should be 5 stars. The metro is handy too.

A well designed metro station let’s you out on the Haymarket near two universities. There are plenty of bars mainly frequented by older crowd. Good micro pubs. Good bus station. Easy to get to. Handy for museums.

This is probably the best building in Newcastle now. It’s a good shape and it has my favourite Japanese restaurant on the outside : Shijo.

I love this place. It has a brilliant Japanese restaurant which is very nice. The building is also very nice. In shijo the Japanese place I reviewed ages ago leads into the haymarket. It has the biggest escalator leading down to the metro.

For anyone wanting a quieter pub crawl in Newcastle the Haymarket is the place to go.
Age group is between 40 and death and guaranteed to see very little young fanny, so if your awld or a ‘rear-gunner’ thats the place to go
