This place is fun to visit and you will learn a lot. The guides are great. They are friendly, entertaining and informative.

Most worthwhile excursion in Stratford…..informative,interesting,well organised and (certainly in comparison to the usual ‘Shakespearean’) sights in Stratford real value for money

A wonderful presentation by all it was the highlight of our visit to Stratford to see Macbeth which was disappointing. Thanks to the School house very professional.

A definite highlight of our trip to Stratford-upon-Avon. Lots of insight into Shakespearean life and some beautiful medieval wall paintings. Particular thanks to our tour guide Marcus who went above and beyond to create a welcoming and enjoyable experience!

The "teacher" who led the class was excellent. Impressive place - still in use today. Definitely recommend

Myself and my fiancé really enjoyed this fun experience. The staff were friendly, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable about the guild and schoolroom and gave great insight for us to imagine the many young great minds who where once students there such as Shakespeare.

From the moment we arrived, to when we left, we were impressed by the care this place takes of its visitors. It would be so easy to be tired of constant repetition... however, not this bunch.
"We've got a big party coming after you - why not go to the schoolroom upstairs first, then come back and do this floor when they've gone through?"
SO glad we did - we arrived 'late' upstairs to a 'lesson' and an utterly brilliant 'schoolmaster' duly chastised us, waving a birch. However, no harm was done - as he talked to us all about the philosophy of education in Shakespeare's time. Worth going just for this experience. I learned a lot.
Then we had a fascinating visit to the more modern schoolroom, still equipped with desks with holes for inkwells. A private chapel, with a 'secret altar painting' which was revealed behind a protective screen. Then a short film. It was wonderful to find the young people from today's school nearby still use these rooms. Thank you all for a fabulous hour or so.

Was really pleasantly surprised by the Schoolroom! Lots of interaction, wonderful lesson where everyone was included - even if you haven't brushed up on your Latin! Great tour guide who took time to engage with my daughter and answer her questions - informative video and the opportunity to see recently revealed paintings. Writing with the quill was fun.
For kids, much more interesting than the Birthplace or New Place. It is worth the extra entrance fee. You're in for a good 60-70 minutes and it's really interactive throughout.

We visited on a Friday and had superb guides including the fantastic headmaster interaction and learning to write with a quill and ink. Very enjoyable for the kids and the adults.
