A nice place to visit for a few hours if you are in the area. My girls have Blue peter badges so they got in free.
We also did the boat trip around the reeds which was an extra £3.00 each. Has a gift shop and cafe.

Wow Arundel looks fabulous.
WWT was a very enjoyable visit. Parking is ample . We did the boat trip as it was highly recommended on this site. Glad we did it.
The person who operated the boat was so knowledgeable. The boat was silent and glided through the narrow channels, it was so relaxing.
A good time to visit with small fluffy goslings in abundance.
The setting for this site is wonderful. It's just a great day out.

This is a lovely place, though we were blessed with a dry sunny day when we visited. Parking was easy, The staff on reception were very pleasant and informative. The lunch in the cafe was excellent quality and value.. The entire venue is well kept and the wildfowl on view was an absolute delight. We also took in the optional extra of a boat ride which was very pleasant. The entire visit was a delightful experience and our thanks go to all concerned who made our day so memorable, especially the wonderful volunteers.

We visited the Wildlife and Wetland Trust at Arundel on a beautiful sunny afternoon, absolutely loved it. Beautifully laid out, we spent ages wandering around the various areas and along the board walks. So much to see, baby Mallards and baby geese, absolutely adorable. We booked the boat ride which was very quiet, peaceful and informative and really enjoyed it. BUT the absolute highlight was the Kingfisher. In 71 years, I have never seen a Kingfisher other than pictures. We saw a Kingfisher enter the holes in the artificial cliff, re-emerge and sit on a tree, then dive into the water. Fortunately, we had bought our binoculars. It was so beautiful and I am still excited about it. Wonderful afternoon.

I visited yesterday with my mum and two children (aged 9 and 12). The children used their Blue Peter badges to get in for free. There was ample parking on-site when we arrived and we were given the opportunity to purchase tickets for the boat tour when we got there.
We had such a wonderful day and all of us loved it. There was so much to see and the children loved the added extras of pond dipping and the arts and crafts activities. But the highlight of the day was undoubtedly the boat tour. It took about half an hour and it was so peaceful! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions. I’d definitely come back!

Really enjoyable place to visit. Lots of rare birds on display. The boat tour is a must - only £3 each, very peaceful with friendly staff who tell you lots of interesting facts and point out the wildlife.
The centre isn’t cheap to visit but it is clear your money is going towards the maintenance of the place, not just into someone’s pockets. The centre is very well maintained and the birds all seem very healthy and looked after.
Would certainly recommend.

Set in a truly stunning location in close proximity to historic Arundel Castle, the Centre is well run and so informative with so many different breeds of birds from all over the World.
Very pleasant,helpful staff on hand to answer any question.
Easy parking and open all year round, with a well presented,clean cafe.

Spent a wonderful day here with my family. The boat safari is brilliant and the kids loved the pond dipping and finding lots of interesting bugs. The guide was v knowledgeable and friendly in telling us which bugs they were :)

It's many years since we've been here so was overdue for a visit. I'd forgotten how small it is and we'd set aside a day. Although we stayed quite a few hours, we could have done it in half a day. By the visitor centre are the managed birds, but you can walk to a number of hides dotted around the reserve, with a chance of spotting water voles, dragonflies and birds along the ditches. October wasn't the best time to be here as the sand martins have left and there were few birds around - although we did see the Kingfisher several times.
We decided not to do the boat trip. If you've got kids or want to know about wetlands it's probably OK, but you can actually see the route from the paths and it's not taking you far. We did eat in the cafe - a toastie, but they don't offer much choice. It was a good toastie. Has a small shop.

Glad you enjoyed your visit - since then we have expanded our menu to include more hot meals like breakfast rolls of red tractor bacon on sourdough rolls, red tractor sausage and mash and Pieminster pies with vegan options. Our toasties are now on sourdough and made fresh and we have hot soup everyday.

Spent a lovely afternoon here. Beautiful and tranquil. We were thrilled to see a kingfisher 3 times during the afternoon. Thought the shop and cafe a bit expensive.

The Wetlands Discovery Boat Safari is a first come, first served. queueing system. The first trip leaves at 11 am, with trips lasting 15-20 minutes. During busy times like Easter there are three boats operating taking 10 people each trip with only two boats operating between 1-2pm. The last boat of the day leaves at 4.30pm.

We are planning to visit the Center in a couple of weeks and we will be travelling by train from London.
With a 12 year old in tow, I don't think he will be too keen to walk the distance from the station to the center. How much would a taxi ride cost and if it's possible to call for one from the center to take us back to the train station?

Just to clarify: can people rent kayaks at the Arundel Centre, or just at the Gloucester one?

You cannot rent kayaks at Arundel Wetland Centre. We do have a free boat ride in electric boats piloted by a wildlife guide.
