The volunteer's and staff are all friendly a polite. The bar on the train is great. A tip if you are on the last train back to Keighley you don't have to rush off and can carry on having a drink. Absolutely fantastic

Bought vip tickets for 3 adults 4 children. Disappointed with the quality of experience. Food and drink of poor quality, lots of waiting around prior to boarding. Views from train were horrible, rubbish and dumped stuff along the line. Children given a unhealthy cracker full of Haribo sweets to eat, all very low quality, certainly not magical, not worth it don’t waste your money.

We visited with our daughter her partner and their four children aged between 2-6 years old to travel on The Elf Explorer for the kids to meet Father Christmas.
The tickets were expensive in our view with even the littlest ones charged. Organisation when we arrived to pick up our tickets and board the train was poor.
Long lines, lots of waiting and not enough toilet facilities for the number of people there, and then a scrum to board the train even though everyone had allocated seats.
Once on train the kids had goody back and large crackers with sweets in. There was also a bar service.
The elves etc did some singing and father Xmas came to visit with the kids giving each a gift. Unfortunately our 6 year old hated his gift and wanted what the 4 year old had but the chief elf kindly offered him one too so as to ensure harmony.
They do the presents by age so be aware if you have a 6 and a 4 year old for instance they will be given different gifts.
We were also given mince pieces and mulled wine before the return journey. Actual train time about 1 hour
Don’t think we would do it again

When Santa came onto the train our two year old was over the moon. The REAL Santa!
Such a wonderful experience, from the winter wonderland - finding a golden ticket; receiving a ‘nice’ sticker and watching the model train go round. With loads of photo opportunities in the exhibition shed
On to the express to Cringle Town. A comfortable ride with mulled wine and mince pies. Entertainment from Santas elves, Christmas crackers and a visit from the big man himself. An amazing experience
Highly recommend

From the grotto in the sheds to the train ride, children's gifts were incredible. It was such a great experience grandson loved every minute and us adults had a great time too can't fault it. Other than they could do with a few more loos but that's not a critism it's just a suggestion have recommended to friends and will definitely do it again next year, what a fab day out

Great nostalgic trip. Different steam engine to last year. Dedicated volunteers who love being on the railway doing a number of various jobs. Keep up the good work!

We visited this railway and really felt like we had entered a railway time capsule. The facilities were perfectly presented, so well maintained and clean. We stopped at Haworth which was a fantastic experience, there was even a Halloween event taking place which added to the atmosphere of the old cobbled streets and quirky shops. The trains were regular and on time. Our only slight criticism was the number of loud and unruly dogs on the trains, we feel that there should be a dog only carriage so as not to detract from the experience for those of us not travelling with animals. The staff must love this line as it is so well managed and cleaned. A great experience all round.

We thought from the timetable at the station that the trains had finished for the season, but they were working last week during half term holidays as someone more skilled at the internet than we are pointed out to us at our hotel. So we travelled the short distance on the steam train from Haworth to Keighley. It was Halloween and the train was full of children, many dressed for the occasion. On board we had visits from two witches and an ogre. We believe there were some children's activities going on in one of the other carriages. All great fun for children as well as for oldies like us. Oakworth station is famous for the filming of The Railway Children (1970), though it doesn't look as smart as it did in the film. A nice trip for anyone who likes steam trains.

Beautifully restored and maintained stations, permanent way and trains. The staff were very helpful, friendly and 'in character'. Haworth station is lit by gas, one of the only or the only station so equiped in the UK. We arrived on a school holiday Halloween event with some staff dressed as witches and many of the children and adults joining in the fun. A lot of trains were running, both steam and heritage diesel DMU in action. The station shop was well stocked and a coal fire was burning in the ticket office. Good to see telegraph poles still running alonsgide the track and they are operational. The Haworth car park is run by the council and only takes cash.

We regularity visit Oxenhope station, and travel on the trains, my grandson of 5 years loves the experience, he is Autistic, on this accession, 22/10/2022 we boarded the steam train at Oxenhope, my grandsons dad was unable to accompany us on this accation, my grandson was waving at his dad through the window while the train was stationary at Oxenhope station, I had to tell my grandson to sit down, because the train was nearly ready to depart, the conductor who was near by, took it upon himself
to interfere, and said to my grandson, it's ok, you go and stand at the open door of the carriage and talk to your dad, overriding my instructions, the railway is a fantastic attraction, but I really wish people would mind there own business when they really don't know what their talking about, this conductor obviously though he knew my grandson better than I do, I didn't confront him, I'm a quiet person, but I felt very intimidated by the conductor for interfiering.

Is the train journey a return ride ? I take it you can get off and have a look around at keighley and then head back to Haworth? Hoping to visit in July ......

It is a five mile track. And you can hop on and off at all the stations. Oakworth is where they filmed the RailwY Children. You can get a day rover which also gives you entry to the museum and rail story, or just a round trip. Check out their Web site.

Myself and my friend are attending the Gin Express on the 15th June at 11am.
We will be travelling from Doncaster and get the train to keighley. It states on the website that it departs from Oxenhope Railway station? Is this correct? Is there a way to get to Oxenhope from Keighley? Is this a bus/train? What is the cost and how long does it take please? Just trying to get organised x

No train departs early enough on the 15th June from Keighley to get you to Oxenhope in time for the 11am Gin Express. Bus B3 departs Keighley Bus station at 10.05 and takes 23 minutes to get you to Oxenhope, this is the service which shows its destination as being Hebden Bridge, tickets £4.30 for the day. Keighley Bus station is a 10 minute walk from the Rail Station. All specials run by K&WVR operate from Oxenhope.
Hi, I will be coming from Doncaster with a friend on Saturday to join your 'Gin Experience' at 11am! A little early for Gin but never mind!! Could you give me some idea please how long the 'experience' will last as I have a hubby who will be waiting to drive us home..Bless him! Thanks in advance..X

Allow two hours for the return trip, as the normal practice is for the train to take twenty minutes to be watered at Haworth before making the return journey, you should be back at Keighley at 1pm, or very shortly afterwards, their time keeping is very good.

Do people (kids) dress up in pj’s and dressing gowns... polar express style or is it normal clothes?

Late answer it's a while since I've logged on! There was no dressing up on the Korma train. Dancing on the station might even require a coat though.
