‪Great museum to visit whilst in Leeds! Free entry and so much to discover, learned new things all the time whilst was there and the gun demonstration was great. Ideal if you’re a history fan‬

‪Staff were absolutely lovely, couldn't have been better! Absolutely brilliant display of artifacts from all different conflicts and eras. Definitely recommend it to any history fanatics such as myself! ‬

‪Had a blast all day here! Sophie leading the Escape Room was super helpful, went above and beyond to call us when we turned up a little late!

India and the live re-enactments were incredible, it really looked like they enjoyed every second of what they were doing!‬

‪Absolutely amazing way to spend time in Leeds.
My suggestion would be a culture aspect (imagine seeing exhibition dedicated to James Bond and other movies) and more modern weapons.
Building itself and are are unreal. Thank you.‬

‪Good stuff, but …‬

‪Pro’s - huge range of exhibits, lively and engaging talks which interested both adults and children, some material very creatively displayed, cafe did a decent job.

Con’s - terrible lighting meant it was often impossible to read labels, and sometimes even to see the exhibits. No clear pattern of what is where. Staff at reception were unable/ unwilling to tell me, as an interested first time visitor, what to see and where I could find it. Unisex loos - AARGH! - need to keep legs crossed.

Desperate need a floor plans to be prominently displayed at multiple points.‬

‪Worth a visit but some aspects disappointing‬

‪Amazing collection in a great purpose built building but starting to look a little tired. Quite a few lights not working, so some displays hard to see. Some display panels faded / blurred. Information sometimes frustratingly lacking. Eg. Display headed “the Gatling Principal” several Gatling guns displayed and described but nothing to tell you what the Gatling principal is. Some floor panels obviously coming loose and covered with striped tape. Service in the cafe was very poor. Stood at counter as next customer. 3 staff busy sorting previous drinks orders. Stood about 5 mins, not one made eye contact or said anything like “hello, I will be with you in a minute” felt like we were invisible. We eventually walked out and got a coffee and lunch elsewhere. The museum is definitely worth a visit regardless of the above points‬

‪Great performances ‬

‪Huge, lots to see but the best part was the talks (wild west guns and pattern welding) and performances of various types of sword fighting. Kept us well entertained 😊 we walked from the station and caught the lovely water taxi back, lunch was at pizza express just across from the museum entrance. ‬

‪Fantastic place for a day out. If you have any interest at all in military history, then you will not be disappointed. Entrance is free and it’s easy to get to. My daughter has no interest in anything other than her iPad but even she loved it!

‪Bigger & better than we expected!‬

‪Impressive displays from all eras of Britain and the wider world. We particularly enjoyed the Japan-themed area, the giant elephant, the movie props, and all of the suits of armour.

Cons: pressured by the staff to donate upon entry - the lady at the door asked us if we "had a ticket" (umm, it's a free museum?) and when we said no, we were instructed to go to a kiosk where they were selling guide books and taking donations. Also, the display videos are all Standard Definition (like 480p at best) with no HD or upscaled videos in sight.‬
