An amazing place, with lots of things to do. Definitely needed all day to visit. The staff were absolutely fantastic, we were a family group travelling with elderly, infirm parents, the staff couldn't do enough to help us! They made sure my mother-in-law was suitably transferred from place to place, treating her as a real person, not a wheelchair. Every effort was made to help them get around, staff were polite and helpful at all stages. Each room had staff who genuinely seemed to enjoy their job and we're glad to chat. We were a group of 15, ranging from 15 to 88.

Incredible history, with amazing interiors, artefacts and views out to the grounds. Lots of play area for families, walking with dogs around the grounds and area pond area. Nice restaurant.

We’ve visited the house before in the Christmas season and this year it wasn’t as good as precious years displays. We did enjoy the penguins and the bird garden, and our daughter had a great time in the playground. The curiosity cabin hardly has anything in it to do this year, and there was no activities and crafts on the courtyard as there has been previously.
It was a nice family day out, but at £49 for the three of us it didn’t feel like value for money, when so much was not as good as it has been before.

Grounds are beautiful, great to see the flamingos. The house is beautiful, the outside decorations gorgeous. However the actual Christmas Tree exhibit was mediocre, there were a few displays that did capture the spirit of Christmas but most were underwhelming.
We had paid for the festive afternoon tea (£160 for 4 people) but wish we hadn’t. The celeriac veloute was delicious but that was pretty much it, rest of afternoon tea was mediocre. Sandwiches tiny, with dry bread, even still had the plastic divider on my husband’s which was not impressive. Enjoyed a lot of good afternoon teas, this was not one of them and will certainly not be visiting next Christmas.

Visited with my mum and daughter. The house was absolutely spectacular- we came specifically to see the Christmas tree installations and we’re not disappointed at all. Hats off to the staff and artists, it really blew us away. Staff were friendly and really knowledgeable- was so interesting learning about the history.
Sadly a much anticipated part of our experience was lunch. Arrived at the Terrace cafe - waited to be seated only to see others just coming in from the outside and being seated immediately. Very poorly organised. We were seated on chairs at the back of the cafe where we were promised our drinks would “get us started” whilst waiting for a table- no one came. We eventually got a table, waited over 20 minutes to be served. Waited a further 25 minutes for drinks- Luke warm latte and tea. After a further 20 minutes our food arrived. Soup was tepid, more cream than carrot sadly. We had seen beautiful sandwiches pass at the table next to us- triangles on a lovely plate. My roast beef sandwich arrived but was on a large, very dry bread roll, with a pile of dark green lettuce. It was not nice and impossible to eat. We did not get any cutlery or napkins, no one asked if it was ok, or discussed cake options. The tables near to us were welcomed, told what the soup was and cakes. Service was very poor and inconsistent. Several other diners received the wrong order and asked for cutlery. We asked for a scone which took another 25 minutes. My suggestion would be to have 1 person in charge of seating etc, not 2 people who work differently, to also look at how orders are processed in the kitchen so people are served in correct order, and to teach staff about bringing cutlery. Customer service was poor- even when we paid we were over charged by £11! MY daughter queried the cost and the lady on the till showed exactly how annoyed with us she was. What a shame; given the food is a real source of income, we felt a few changes would really maximise the potential. The soup, one tea, 2 coffees, a scone and soft drink were £40- a smile would have been lovely.
Don’t be put off visiting this gem though- it is beautiful, the grounds are spectacular and the penguins made my day. The Courtyard cafe was lovely.

Such a shame to find that entry prices were so high. Left speechless after paying over £120 for a 3 generation family of 6 with 4 adults + 2 young kids. Having been a regular visitor over many years, this is not an affordable trip we could repeat.

Our extended family, 4 adults and 3 children: 10,5 and 1, went along to the Christmas exhibition “Long Live the Christmas Tree!”. Subsequently featured in a Channel 4 documentary. As members we go along each Christmas to the exhibition and this year we thought they excelled themselves. All the exhibits were brilliant. It was interesting for the children, cushions on the floor for them to sit on and listen to “Tales of the Winter Solstice”. The 5 year old boy was fascinated by the one that looks like antlers. But the favourite overall was ‘One Love” made by the Leeds Carnival costume designer Hughbon Condor. I’m only sorry I haven’t left people much time to go along as it finishes on Tuesday.

Visit to Harewood House.. Such a beautiful building and the grounds are magnificent but spoiled by poor service in tea room. Had a group booking for afternoon tea... Bread was dry but we asked the waiter three times for our tea...it arrived when we all finished eating and we were all gasping for a drink!! This was disappointing for the price!

Visited yesterday for the Harewood Christmas Tree exhibition having watched a documentary on TV detailing this the previous night. A number of artists had been given creative rights to demonstrate their interpretation of the Christmas Tree and display their creativity individually within the various rooms within the House. What an amazing display of both the artists' creations and the Harewood's own traditionally decorated trees inside the house and on the terrace garden. Stunning.

My review relates to the cafe in the main house. Visited today, 28 Dec 22, and just had a hot chocolate, which was fine. However the way the place is run need some serious attention. The place wasn't busy, yet every table has dirty crockery left from the previous occupant. Despite staff coming in and out, not at any stage was any of it cleared. The staff are pleasant enough but it looks like there in no experience of how to run the place. The manager was also guilty of doing nothing. Potential diners came in and left. I used to help at a friend's restaurant years ago, and there was a basic rule that you never left or came into the kitchen empty handed. I've been to this place a few times, and each time it's the same. Service is slow and the place is just so badly run. They must be losing so much money, which I would have thought a house like this needs every penny. My advice would be to get the staff to shape up or sack the lot and get others that can actually see what needs to be done, and importantly care. It's a great location with great potential. At the moment it's a wasted space. I wish you luck and improvement very soon.

This answer is late, but may help other visitors. During the Covid restrictions ,with reduced numbers of visitors allowed on site, it is preferred that ALL visitors book on the harewood booking system. Anyone requiring an "essential carer" to assist them, can attend at the entrance gate with their pre booked tickets for everyone EXCEPT the "essential carer". You should state that you need a free carer ticket at the gate, and this will be processed with no charge.
There is no "senior" rate at Harewood, current adult & child prices on website.
We will be attending Michael buble in agaust, I will be 6 nearly 7 months pregnant, will the show be in or outside and is it standing or are their seated areas? Tickets did not specify?
Don't worry about standing, if last night's event (08/07/22) is anything to go by only expect 90 minutes of him on stage. Be prepared for mayhem escaping the car park afterwards too!!

We are a retired couple. We have no dogs and won't have grandchildren with us when we visit. Is 5 hours long enough to see house and gardens and have a light lunch?

You could probably do it if you stay focused and set priorities. There is a lot to see. We arrived close to opening time and did the bird gardens and some close walks before the house even opened. We then made the house a priority before heading off for more distant parts. We didn't stop for lunch but did stop briefly - once for a drink and once for an ice-ream - but the "cafes" look appetising. We are around your age but good walkers - if you are the same, you will get a lot out of it. There are a lot of seats in which you can take a break - most in scenic positions. It is well worth a visit.
