At the western end of the arcade, above the entrance, stands a foursome of life-size models who are part of the Ivanhoe Clock. Robin Hood, Friar Tuck, Richard the Lionheart and Gurth the Swinehead are all sporting exceptionally short tunics.

Nice arcade full of independent shops. Kapow is fab for consistent good coffee, seating and toilets here. Stand out barbershop - Thornton’s barbers, Gav is a fantastic barber, patient and listens to what you really want. Only stockist I know of Murdock London hair products, highly recommended! Village is a good clothing/skate store stocking Carharrt clothing, well worth a look!

The Thornton's arcade is very much like the other arcades in the city center they are full of so much history in the architecture so if your into that or visiting Leeds for the first time i would go take a walk down maybe pop in a few shops not too pricey and see the beauty that is the Thornton's Arcade

The arcades have all been beautifully restored and are a great place to wander although the shops are all quite high end!

Exquisite design with a balcony and beautiful intricate iron mongery. Lovely shade of green and some mosaic on the dome.

Another arcade leading off Briggate built in 1878. Not as grand as the Victoria quarter but still very nice. It as the famous Ivanhoe clock inside which is lovely and depicting Robin Hood

This is a review about a little known Deli inside the Arcade.Thorntons Deli number 21 the Arcade.A family run Deli that is cosy very clean,and very welcoming.The food is all fresh made when ordered,i had mixed veg chicken biryani ,made mild to my request oh boy it was wonderful.There is a large menu at great prices,they are open late near the end of the week.Go and try it out you will not be disappointed.

There are several impressive shopping arcades in Leeds ,Thorntons Arcade is one such arcade we cut through and I must say I was totally impressed with the architecture.
Thorntons Arcade was constructed between 1877 - 1878 from designs from architect George Smith and restored in the mid 1990's to leave us with a stunning example of Victorian architecture at its best, the beautiful wrought iron arches, the beautiful glass roof and the amazing Ivanhoe Clock and the pretty retail outlets that line this wonderful shopping arcade, its most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area and easy to locate down Lands Lane

Visited it today and compared it to other nearby arcades.
Plain, well maintained with plenty of independent shops, all units are let.
This is one of the classic Leeds arcades that gives the Leeds shopping experience a distinct character.
