I'm pleased to read that you enjoyed Abigail's Party and that you found our staff friendly. As the booking fee goes directly to the theatre, it has to be kept separate from ticket price when the transaction is made otherwise the theatre would only receive a small percentage of it. I understand your frustration but the funds generated from the fee are vitally important in keeping the building open. As you have mentioned, we do compare bar prices to other theatres but also to local bars and restaurants to ensure that we are providing value for money but I apologise if you feel that you have been overcharged. Dear derekl62, I'm very disappointed to read your views on our theatre. We sell Prosecco in small and large bottles, the small being 200ml which is enough for 2 glasses. The prices are constantly compared to local bars and other regional theatres to ensure that they are value for money but I do apologise if you feel you were overcharged. In regards to your comments about the booking fee, I understand your frustration but I must emphasise that the theatre would not be able to remain open without it. As a receiving house, the shows staged here are not produced by the theatre, therefore the majority of the ticket price goes to the visiting company. The theatre's cut of the ticket price alone is not enough to keep the building open which is why the 12% booking fee is added.
