Real gem of a back street pub. Popped in for a pint and was made to feel like old friends. Good selection of real ales (rare to see draft Bass) and well kept. What you see is what you get. Pukka pies on sale as well as the usual pub snacks.
Not many of this sort of pub left, so its great to see the new landlord making a go of it.
Will be back!

I went as far as the door of this nasty little pub then turned round. Drunks hang around and disturb the residents most weekends. I have experienced this when I've stayed with friends. There are much nicer places in Malvern if you want a decent night out. The retired soldier should be retired and the landlords with it.

Perfect pub in Malvern with a real friendly atmosphere great beer too.The new outdoor seating area looks fabulous.

We are new to the area and found ourselves here for a quick pint. This is a great traditional pub and friendly too...We will be back.

Very small pub based in the foot of the Malvern Hills.
Good drinking pub with great people which makes it a great atmosphere.
Dart board and duke box on site and plenty of sky sports in the main bar.
Beer is decent and reasonably priced! No food apart from bar snacks but they will cater for groups such as runners or cyclists.

Called in for a drink new years eve..I haven't been to the retired for many years and would like to say how welcoming that landlord and landlady were..the drinks are so cheap ( £1 difference to some pubs around malvern)..we were offered free food, considering we were not locals to the pub, the girls were so impressed..lovely little pub with a great atmosphere..thank u for making us welcome and we will definitely return

what a great pub so friendly and welcoming. the landlord and landlady are so nice and ready for a chat. I don't go any were else for a drink. why not pop in and see what I mean. best little pub in Malvern and Worcestershire.
