Beddgelert is een leuk pittoresk dorpje wat vooral leuk rondom de brug over Afon Colwijn. Als je bij de brug rechtdoor loopt kom je bij het leuke kerkje Church of St Mary met begraafplaats. Je kan ook bij de brug linksaf (je ziet een bordje Gelert’s Grave) dan loop je langs een leuk winkeltje voor het voetbruggetje ga je rechtsaf. Hier kan je een leuke vlakke wandeling maken langs het water. Je komt dan langs Gelert’s Grave en even verderop het beeld van de hond achter de stenen. Je verder doorlopen tot de volgende voetbrug en dan aan de andere kant van het water weer terug.
Je kan ook vanuit Caernarfon of Porthmadog met de stoomtrein hier naar toe.

Prachtig dorpje in Nationaal Park Snowdonia. Er vertrekken mooie wandelingen vanuit het dorp. Leuke restaurants en winkeltjes

We enjoyed staying two nights in this village. It is easy to walk around with a variety of shops, pubs, cafes and things to see. It has a quaint and unhurried feel.
The locals are very friendly, happy to chat and have good insights about things to see and do. You get a sense that this is a tight knit community.
It is a small village and doesn’t have an ATM. You can get cash from the Post Office, but not all cards are accepted. It is a good idea to have some cash with you for small purchases.

Lovely afternoon walk around Beddgelert. Luckily the sun was out. Sat in the park to have lunch. Had a stroll around the shops.

Very nice small town but very commercial due to the great number of tourists. I truly recomment to visit the unknown 13nd century priory church of St Mary. It is hidden at the end of the first street at your left after you cross the bridge.

A beautiful welsh village nestled in the mountains, with a variety of places to eat/drink, a beautiful river walk and you can see Gelert’s Grave and statue, which was lovely having read the book in school myself and the children now also.

Beddgelert is a lovely little village located at a dramatic site at the confluence of the Glaslyn and Colwyn Rivers with spectacular views of Snowdon and nearby peaks. The days of copper and slate mining are long gone and it is very much focused on tourism these days with hotels, B&Bs, pubs, cafes and gift shops. The access roads are narrow and it can get very crowded in the summer and parking can be problematic but the Welsh Highland Railway has a station at the edge of the village. Don't miss the stroll to Gelert's grave or if you're feeling more energetic, a walk along the spectacular Afon Glaslyn gorge.

Have taken my 2 young kids here a few times and they LOVE running through the forest, looking for the pictures of the animals hidden about in the trees! Its always a great day out for the family whether it's sunny or rainy!!

Three pubs in the town - sorry can't comment as we did not use any of them - we had a decent bar in our hotel - but they all looked worth a visit
