The Bootlegger is very "precious" and pretentious. Themed decor and cocktail menu & staff dress is US Prohibition....it presents like an old high end speakeasy but with very expensive drinks. It all looks nice, but they spent a TON of money on the decor and the drinks are so expensive to try to recoup the expense investment is my guess. The DJ was pititful and the crowd was just not any fun.

Hi guys,
Came here by chance as venue looked the business, as we left the Tiny Rebel Bar.
We didn't have food however, the bartender (sorry forgot your name) is a cocktails genius.
Literally made the perfect 'dirty' Martini.
It was a quiet point in the evening being a Tuesday evening so he got to talk to us and it was great to hear his knowledge and enjoy his work.
Ironically theres a place called 'Dirty Martini' nearby whose dirty martini's were far inferior.
I can only imagine how great the atmosphere is here on a Fri/Sat.
Well worth a visit!

A must visit, brilliant bar in Cardiff!
A great atmosphere on a Saturday evening with a fun theme and music.
Bootlegger has an amazing (and huge) menu, and the 2 for £16 mix and match cockatil offer is brilliant.
We had the best espresso martini we had ever tasted here, and all of our other drinks were delicious too

Stunning cocktails, staff are friendly but slow, only thing I’d say it the music is way too loud!
It was a Saturday night fair enough, but there was nobody in the second bar dancing it was just people trying to have a sit and chat, we left after 2 drinks because we were all shouting at one another, wasn’t busy enough to have on full blast

Linda and Cam were the most lovely mixologist and made drinks we will never forget. It was mine and my friends birthdays and they made it such an amazing occasion. Having the sound of love jazz to our drinks made everything amazing

Cocktails were absolutely banging, Cam gave me a smacked bottom and it was my birthday, happy days. Awesome service and atmosphere. Highly recommended! :)

Came here with friends for a birthday and what an amazing night we had! The sraff were amazing and talked us through all the cocktails so we knew what we would like and the atmosphere was next to none! Linda was especially hospitable and really made us feel at home. Cant wait to come back

What a gem place to visit in Cardiff. We visited on Friday night. Great music, fantastic staff. I bielieve we were served by Cameron if I remember correctly. What a superstar. He certainly made us feel welcomed , helped with our drink choice which were so delicious. Surely he deserves a bonus ❤️

Visited yesterday with some friends and it was lovely (as always!) - great vibe, great music, great cocktails. We had some trouble with another customer but staff were quick to identify the issue and rectify straight away for us. I already loved this place but knowing we’re in safe hands made me feel even better :)
