I went to a carol service and performed with my primary school in the choir. The Cathedral was so big and very pretty. I really enjoyed it and it made me feel very Christmassy. Would love to go back and sing there again.

A really lovely cathedral where the history evolves from Norman through to late 20th Century. We really loved the modern arch with Christ the Redeemer inviting people to prayer. The new organ is a triumph of modern design and workmanship. It fits in so beautifully and yet is unashamedly modern. I was also taken with the Welsh Regiment chapel. All in all, a lovely visit.

Would 100% recommend - we went for the kings celebration a few weeks back and the architechture on the building is like nothing else in the area - also some cute little cafes and shops close

Wonderful cathedral. Real mix of modern and historic features. Also need to have a walk up to the Cathedral green. Wonderful houses, war memorial and a very peaceful garden. Aid in the area a must visit

Dating back to 1120 this cathedral is truly an historical monument. But actually it's a practicing church with services you can freely attend. The choir and organ playing was incredible. The Sunday service was calm and welcoming.
The building itself is stunning. The stained glass windows are are a work of art especially the main central window.
Inside the cathedral there are monuments to past bishops and lots of beautiful decorative objects. Outside has a small cemetery and some benches to rest & reflect.
The building is incredibly tall and can be seen from far away. A truly must visit

There is a tourist walking path from the castle till here by the River Taff. I found this cathedral very peaceful, calm and put my mindset in a good place. Architecture beauty is this one with multiple arts around. It is well worth walking around inside and outside the church yard as well.

There is something rather special about the place. Time has been unkind to the old place but what they have, of any period is cherished and well displayed with excellent information boards. But I couldn't find any where an explanation of the concrete arch

Worth walking through the castle grounds for around 2 miles to get there . Brilliant architecture inside that could divide opinion.

This is a beautiful cathedral which we found on our cycle right we seem to be in the middle of nowhere. Truly amazing building

Great architecture, thousands of years old.
And if the choir is practising, you are treated to a wee bit of heaven. I'm not religious but I can confirm that it is a stunning visit.

I'd like to visit with my mum who is in a wheelchair. Do you think the cathedral is suitable?

Thanks for your question. The Cathedral has some wheelchair accessibility. Most parts of the Cathedral can be accessed easily enough but some parts require the assistance of a member of staff. Just ask a verger and they'll happy to help!

Entry to the Cathedral is free, we encourage voluntary donations to help cover the costs of the maintenance and ministry of the Cathedral :)
