‪This is a must if you are a Thomas Dylan fan or are simply just interested in him. The exhibition ‘Love the Words’ tells the story of Dylan’s life, work and legacy, from his birth on 27 October 1914 in Swansea to his death on 9 November 1953 in New York. It was fascinating and very informative.‬

‪I travelled to Swansea with the express purpose of visiting this musuem (which until recently, I didn't know existed!) and I wasn't disappointed!
It is housed in an impressive building (formerly the Guild Hall) and the recption staff couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming! The exhibition "Love the Words" tells of Thomas's career via an interactive time line; it tells you about his school days, books he liked to read ("Just William" Stories were among his favourites), his stage debut and on through his life. There are documents, photographs, sound recordings, books and even the suit he wore durng his last American tour! There are several seating areas where you can relax and hear recordings of Dylan's work and of people who knew him.
If you want to visit more places associated with the poet, pick up a copy of "An Extraordinary Little Map" which takes you on a tour of the key haunts that he frequented in the city centre.
A fascinating little museum and well worth an hour of anybody's time!‬

‪We visited this centre on a rainy afternoon while holidaying near Swansea. It is an excellent exhibition, which gives a fascinating insight into the life and work of a remarkable poet. Plenty of interactive displays, and the comfortable chairs in which to sit whilst listening to Dylan Thomas's poems being read were a real treat!‬

‪Although centring on Dylan Thomas this fine building near the Tawe is also an art centre for Swansea, which could certainly do with one - as a kind-of Brummie I recognise a city that doesn't get enough love when I see one, and it's a good place. Dylan Thomas meanwhile is the subject at the moment of an exhibition that is extremely yellow and black, dare one say Bible-black, and full of anecdotes of what a fine writer, dramatist and poet (not just a poet) he was, as well as a pisshead - I was at the time reading the autobiography of Hunter S Thompson, another inebriate, and the parallels were clear. As the man (Thomas not Thompson) said, writing is like being sick. He did a lot of both.
This is a good place to include on your Swansea / Abertawe itinerary.‬

‪The Dylan Thomas Centre and the "Love of the Words" exhibition in Swansea, Wales has plenty of information on the man and his work. There is a timeline of Dylan's life, and exhibits include black and white photographs, diary entries, excerpts from his early projects, book covers, and you can hear recordings of some of the world's most well-known voices (Prince Charles and Richard Burton are among those to feature) reading lines from famous Dylan Thomas works, and also voice recordings of those who knew him and worked with him, via the built-in speakers in the chairs. Also displays that focus on Dylan's technique, explore the notebooks he wrote in Swansea between the ages of 15 and 19, and cast a light on the circumstances surrounding his death in New York City in 1953.
Recommended.‬

‪What a great interesting & very informative place to visit for few hours. So much there you might not have known about this great man, Plenty sound areas to listen to various things like his poetry & small room with screen on which to see various items such as excerpts from the famous Under Milk Wood. Thoroughly enjoyable especially if you're a fan.‬

‪I found this to be a really imaginatively curated exhibition for all ages and all levels of interest. Whether it’s Dylan Thomas or just ‘words’. Plenty of information in bite sized pieces and engaging activities for children. A real celebration of the man, his work, of art, literature and ‘words’. Recommended.

‪This is an interesting little exhibition about the life of Dylan Thomas. You can follow the timeline of his life, see photos, letters and newspaper articles reproduced, listen to his voice reciting the great poems. Incidentally, here I also learnt about the devastating effects of the German air raids on Swansea.‬
