Had participated in their zoom lectures over the past 2 years from Australia and was determined to visit when I came to the UK. Enjoyed our visit immensely.Ken Griffin was a fabulous guide welcoming and enthusiastic. As an educator was impressed with the way the museum catered to all ages and provided so much information about the exhibits. The education centre was excellent and I would love to see similar set ups in Australian museums. Thank you to all you are doing a great job.

Found inside Swansea university, they could make it easier to find with some signs but plenty of students about to ask the way.
Once inside it’s divided into two sections, upstairs Life and downstairs Death. The children loved both with plenty to see and do with knowledgeable students handy to pass on lots of information, ours particularly enjoyed playing the Egyptian game called Senet in Life and mummifying in the Death part of the exhibition.
An enjoyable few hours with a reasonably priced cafe nearby on the site on the weekend we were there, it’s probably open in the week as is the costa coffee place virtually opposite.

A small place but well worth a visit if you love all things ancient. I loved it and could see that school visits would be good too. Bit odd finding parking. Walked up from some short distance in the rain. Exhibit not sign posted on campus.

I have been here several times with my children as the volunteers make the experience an enjoyable one. There is plenty of activities to keep the children entertained. The activity back packs and torches are a great touch. Every time we head to Swansea we make a visit here as its one of our favourite places to visit. Massive shout out to all the volunteers that put a great amount of effort in to educate their visitors.

We spent a damp Saturday afternoon with our 5 year old granddaughter in the Egypt Centre at Swansea University. What a fascinating place to visit, staffed with very knowledgeable volunteer guides whose enthusiasm was infectious. Although consisting effectively of only two rooms, the exhibits and activities were displayed cleverly to draw you in and take you through the contrasting themes of 'Death' and 'Life' in ancient Egypt. Our granddaughter was in her element and took a worryingly wrapt interest in the mummification presentation!
And it's all free!

Really good center/museum, lots of interest for all ages, the staff were amazing, we'll stocked shop with gifts for all price ranges, located on Swansea university campus, we found it easy to find and great fun. Would recommend.

Only had half an hour but the exhibits are very interesting with lots of interpretation. Also a lot of things for children to do, including mumifying someone (actually a dummy!).

Well worth a visit to this free attraction that is run by volunteers. The guide (Victoria) was very helpful and was clearly enthusiastic about the subject, or you can wonder by yourself. Not a big place but OK artifacts.

Once we had located the centre after parking up (a bit more signage would have been helpful) we made our way into the centre which is set over two levels - upstairs being the room in which the fosus is on life in ancient Egyotian times.
Lots of interesting artefacts are contained within but what helps, esp, when visiting with kids are the volunteers who take the time to explain things and make the exhibits come to life. We were lucky enough to have a a wonderful lady explain the game of sent and she ran through a full game with my two kids who thoroughly enjoyed it!
Downstais is focused on the way in which the ancient folk of Egypt treated death. Once more we wer elucky to encounter a guy who was very knowledgeable and full of facts about the items on show.
For most folks an hour or so is all it takes to get around but it's a fascinating place and for free entry there can be no complaints at all
