We stay near Rhossili but always take a trip to the mumbles , nice relaxing place to walk about.
Today we were very disappointed to see a poor lady on the ground. head bandaged & when we passed 1 1/2 hours later she was still there. It makes you realise how lucky we are in England.
Also some of the boats that are along the promenade are in a shabby state & makes the place look run down. Council, give them notice & auction them off, tidy the area up.

This was a return visit for us (following on from last year). One of the most beautiful coastlines in Britain, a personal favourite is the wild and rugged Bracelet Bay with parking and eatery.
Oxwich Bay wide, long sandy beach with eateries and public toilets and pay to enter car park, easy to spend the whole day there.
Worm's Head and Rhossilli Bay, beautiful sandy beach although there is a steep descent - well worth it. Eateries included in the village. National Trust property. Parking free for members.
Mumbles - beautiful outlook. Car parking, shopping centre and plenty of places to eat.

I live in the Gower and so does my family. To everyone that comes here plz do it’s an amazing place and is so popular to the whole world. My favorite thing about the Gower is the friendly people and how the weather can be good. My favorite place is rhossili because it has a beautiful beach and a very long walk that you can take over to worms head just opposite and there is always a sunflower show during the summer.

We stayed at one of the caravan parks and enjoyed a relaxing few days in this area. I remember the Gower from my childhood and it has changed very little, which I think is a good thing.
There are some lovely bays to discover with Swansea and the Mumbles close by. A place of natural beauty well worth exploring.

A very beautiful coastline with a mixture of sandy and stoney beaches some of the roads are narrow and windy which in holiday season are crowded. Plenty of very pretty villages with some great pubs.
The Gower is a fab place to visit with some super place to go and see

We went to a wedding at Oldwalls and before coming home we spent some time here. What a beautiful part of the world!
Wish we could have stayed and visited the area more.
Will have to return again as the views were stunning.

Really lovely part of the world! Glad we got to experience it as there are some truly stunning areas. Would definitely like to go back again to explore the places we did not manage to visit, and also return to places such as Rhossili and Mumbles! Would definitely recommend to everyone! ☺

So worth visiting the Gower peninsula as it's absolutely stunning! A very good hike to Worms Head and back during low tide is a great way to spend a day in nature.

Surely one of the most beautiful areas of Britain. Beaches, views, walks, country pubs, ancient castles, winding lanes, friendly people - what more could you ask for?

Hi I am thinking about booking a holiday in gower in mid August. What's the scenario there re: tourism now? Wales tourist website basically says "don't come to Wales". Seems somewhat excessive.
What are anyone's views on this? Locally would people welcome visitors/tourists?

Try a few places, things are easing depending on what your looking for. Welsh government are arse*** s so see what you come out with. Hopefully you’ll find something that suits your needs. 😉😊👌apologies I can’t do politics 🙈🙈😂... if you’re struggling give me a call I’ll try and help.

Hi Thinking about visiting Swansea and The Gower Peninsula this summer. Can you tell me please where the nicest areas to stay are? Thanks

Nice hotels , b&bs on the gower itself up to the pier . You could stay a short bus ride further into swansea on the sea front , a lot cheaper .
If you like sea food , swansea market is really good . If you dont have a budget then worms head has a couple of hotels but i guess probably be very expensive.
Worms head area great scenery , walking and fishing . Beautiful sand beaches .
Seemed to be plenty of camping / touring sites around .
Hope you get the weather to enjoy it fully .

Holidaying with dogs in UK for first time in many years and Gower peninsula been recommended as beautiful. Have booked a house just outside Swansea. Are there any shingle/rocky beaches nearby as sand and dogs don't mix terribly well.

All beaches are sand.
We are travelling to Gower in October and would like to take the children pony trekking. Any idea how we can book this?

Hi i'm thinking of a week on the Gower Peninsula May 2019, could anyone please suggest the best village/villages to stay in. I have never visited the area before & would probably be looking to rent a cottage & mindful of supporting the local economy a pub or 2 etc is always good, i would prefer to be near the coast. I love walking & beaches. Hopefully my boxer dog will be joining me (although he is getting very quite old now)
Kind Regards

Hi there are fabulous places all around Gower but i would suggest staying in Blas Gwyr in Llangennith where you will have fabulous walks along both Llangennith & Rhossilli Beach, Broughton beach. You could sample the food in The Britannia Inn which is wonderful (Llanmadoc) or The Kings Head in llangennith. You could drive from your accommodation to Worms Head, Tor Bay and Oxwich & Porteynon. There are a number of good places to eat in Oxwich. You really would be out in the beautiful countryside/seashore and breathing in fresh air on wonderful walks - with the promise of good food & company when you had finished for the day. There is nowhere better. Enjoy your stay!

Bus Timings in Winter- I'm planning to come in December and travel around Gower by Bus (staying in Swansea city centre). I'll be visiting places like Oxwich Bay, Worm's Head etc. How are frequent are bus services, and are any inactive in the winter? Thanks!

Summer is the best time to visit the Gower as transport is regular compared to winter times.

Ponies tend be seen on the North Gower Road - or on Cefn Bryn - travel through Swansea on the signs for Gower - go through Upper Killay - after cattle grid take first right and follow the the B4271 - after a mile you'll see the airport on your left hand side - the road then heads downhill half a mile with a sharp right hand bend at the end - this takes you to moorland where there are usually semi-wild ponies. Carry on for two more miles through winding lanes - cross a cattle grid take an immediate left for an undulating road over Cefn Bryn ridge which gives great views over Gower. You can pull in at the top on the right - take a walk down to Arthur's Stone - look across to Carmarthen - see if the ponies are around - then drive down a mile to the The King Arthur Hotel Reynoldston for lunch.

Where would you recommend me taking my elderly mum for the day? She has restricted mobility and doesn't want to walk on the sand. She likes to sit and view beautiful scenery. We will be traveling by car so will need a car park and toilets nearby.

I'm planning to spend 2 days in Swansea on Easter weekend. Any suggestions on where to stay and how to explore Gower peninsula using public transport?

Thinking about your query again, as it is Bank Holiday I’d strongly advise you to stay as near as possible to the main bus station as all buses to Gower depart from here.
