Another amazing experience on our now yearly adventure with Tony on the yacht Nebraska!
This time we visited the newly created marina and spa at Portavadie, the stunning scenery of the Kyles of Bute, the towns of Largs and Campbeltown and finished up in Portrush (which is gearing up for The Open Golf).
Amazing weather again (good work, Tony - never lets us down!), incredible food, stunning views and just a whole lot of fun and laughs!
I cannot recommend this enough for a group of friends or a family!

An epic weekend onboard yacht Nebraska.
My first solo trip in almost 9yrs with a dear & like minded female friend turned out to be one of our most memorable trips.
We sailed from Ballycastle having taken the option to stay onboard an extra evening for an early morning departure to Gigha.
Gigha is a beautiful island with crystal clear waters perfect for swimming which was such an invigorating experience & one of our many highlights of the trip.
We experienced how friendly & helpful the sailing community really are & got to meet some lovely people & their dogs.
Gigha's jetty with free WiFi provided, was busier than usual because of an upcoming folk music festival.
This made Gigha the perfect stop for us followed by a beautiful meal in the boathouse & a few relaxing drinks.
Our next stop was back on Rathlin which is a personal favourite of mine.
After lunch & some more exploring of the island, which has an abundance of flora & fauna.
We relaxed in the glorious sunshine & enjoyed each others company.
Our culinary treat was provided onboard by skipper Tony who prepared a delicious meal.
Tony is a superb host with every fine detail catered for.
His skill an expertise are second to none. Health & safety is paramount at all times & we certainly felt extremely safe in his experienced hands.
Our itinerary was carefully selected with a careful watch on changing weather systems observed.
Tony is a very patient man & used every opportunity to encourage our limited skills.
My left handed knot tying probably tested this.
Nebraska is truly a wonderful vessel which feels very luxurious from the moment you set foot onboard.
All your needs are catered for & a selection of music makes the journey soothing & memorable.
Bruce Springsteen music will now trigger wonderful memories of a fabulous trip with great people.
We can't wait to go back!⛵

Just returned home from a simply fantastic weekend onboard yacht Nebraska and skipper Tony Dunlop. We pulled out of Ballycastle early Friday morning on our way to Port Patrick, neither myself or my 3 friends had ever been to this part of Scotland before but Tony had assured us we wouldn’t be disappointed, he was right....we had an absolute blast. This little harbour town was just beautiful, great atmosphere, super pubs, live music and dancing on the street, warm weather...couldn’t have got much better!
Yacht Nebraska is a beautiful boat and Captain Tony was is an absolute gentleman, he couldn’t have done any more for myself and my 3 friends. Everything was very meticulously, organised, planned and executed by Tony, he is a true professional and we had a tonne of fun learning the basics about sailing (me spectating!).
I would thoroughly recommend this experience to anyone, we really enjoyed ourselves and will be back again next year for sure.
Thanks for everything Tony, you’re a gentleman and we can’t thank you enough for this experience...until next year!

Yacht Nebraska is a beautiful boat and Captain Tony was is an absolute gentleman, he couldn’t have done any more for myself and my 3 friends. My wife and I have sailed for many years from Nova Scotia to the Bahamas and every where in between. We have sailed the Sea of Cortez and the Caribbean.
We have just returned home from sailing with Captain Tony Dunlop of North Coast Sailing . Our son and daughter- in-law were with us. This three week experience was the best we have ever had. Tony took us to the Mull of Kintyre , the Firth of Clyde and the Isle of Man. He is a competent captian looking after all the necessary safety factors. He is in tune with all of our needs and attentive to any insecurities. His attention to detail is second to none and showed us all the best of Northern Ireland , as well as those parts of Scotland we visited. He knows the waters well. We felt safe and secure at all times. While on land , we had a fantastic time in the resturants and pubs. Tony knows the best and they know Tony. He is simply a great host , so easy to get along with. Nebraska is a well- appointed safe vessel .With regard to weather, we hit the jackpot. It was sunny and clear 19 out of 22 days. Stop thinking about it , just do it . You will never regret it.

I'm so delighted that you all enjoyed the trip. I can't deny, you were super lucky with the weather. I'd love to say it's like that all the time! It was great to have you all on board for this extended voyage and I'd love to see you all back for more of the same. I hope the boat hunting is going well back home!

This was my first experience on a sailing boat, and it really did not disappoint!
Tony is the the perfect host and a super professional skipper, he made us feel at ease immediately and ensured we all knew the drill from a safety point of view, and his experience at sea just shines through, he even taught us the knots we'd need to know to assist him at sea!
Nebraska is just stunning, an immaculately kept boat with all the facilities you would ever need, most importantly a well stocked fridge and a great sound system, Bruce Springsteen fans will enjoy the playlists!
Our trip saw us set sail on friday from Ballycastle to Campbeltown for an overnight stay, where we encountered a pod of Porpoises just outside the harbour! Then it was off to Largs for an overnight stay, which was a lovely marina and town where Tony showed us the sights in the evening! Then we set off around the glorious scenery of Kyles of Bute to our next stop of Portavadie, which was amazing. Such a hidden treasure with a really awesome pool and spa complex right at the marina.
Our final stop was again Campbeltown where we enjoyed one final night in town, most notably a Chinese restaurant which we had great craic in!
Our final sail home to Ballycastle was in the pouring rain, but it didn't dampen our spirits, it was the most amazing trip and I cannot wait to board Nebraska again in the not too distant future.

Ahh it was magical a great four days spent with my brother and friend celebrating a big birthday. Right from the start it was good lovely to meet Tony the skipper who was informative and friendly. He has great patience and genuinely complimentary when you you complete a task on board. We ate, drank, soaked up sun on deck, laughed and throughly enjoyed our trip. I honestly would recommend this to anyone. The scenery is exceptional the wild life is exceptional and Nebraska is exceptional. The boat can hold four guests and Tony the skipper, though we went as a three there was plenty of room for us and our gear, and there will never be three bigger boys on board. Tony is very knowledgable and sends you out list of things are wise to bring he also helps in any way to make you trip an experience of a life time. You can get as involved with the sailing or just sit back and enjoy the ride, I think also Tony picks up what you are comfortable doing, we never felt pushed or under pressure. I hope the photographs help people see what an experience it can be. I have folk coming up to me in the street asking about it as the photos were so good. Don't put it off book today!

Seglade med Tony på en fyra dagars tur förra sommaren. Fantastisk båt och mycket erfaren skeppare. Startade i Ballycastle med första stoppet på Jura. Trevligt stopp med både besök på puben och destilleriet. Vi fortsatte via Ardfern fram till höjdpunkten på resan matmässigt. The Boathouse på Gigha.
Hela seglingen var fantastiskt, fina vyer och mysiga hamnar.
Dessutom involverade Tony hela besättningen i seglingen. Detta passar verkligen alla från nybörjare till mer erfarna seglare.
Redan inbokad på en segling sommaren 2017.

I have just returned from an amazing seven nights cruising/sailing aboard the beautiful yacht Nebraska. I joined the boat in Ballycastle with three other strangers and we set sail for the Island of Jura. Tony is a brilliant host and immediately put me at ease with his welcome aboard. He is a well qualified and very competent sailor and we all worked as a team under his gentle but firm direction. The open sea is an unpredictable and sometimes challenging environment, at all times during the cruise I felt totally safe both in relation to Tony's decision making and to the complete sea-worthyness of Nebraska. The chosen itinerary was really good , each stop over is chosen with care to provide amazing scenery and good sailing. We enjoyed some great food, both aboard Nebraska and in some carefully chosen restaurants ashore. At some point during the cruise I realised that the strangers I had been introduced to in Ballycastle, were now my friends, united by the one thing we all had in common, a love for the sea and for almost anything that floats on water.
I had a brilliant trip and have so many happy memories to cherish of the places we visited, the characters we met, the great craic on our 'runs ashore ' and especially our friendship as a crew which grew as we worked the boat together , depending on one another. If I had to pick out a couple of highlights the first would be the very lively early morning sail from Oban to Ardfern watching Simon's undoubted skills on the helm. The second one would be our hike across the hills from Ardfern to Craobh Haven, the conversations and the banter was priceless, the views were also stunning. I would hope to do it again and would recommend the experience without hesitation.

I joined 4 others on a 6 day voyage leaving Ballycastle to explore, amongst other places the islands of Jura, Mull and Gigha. I had a fantastic time. Tony is the skipper and Yachtmaster qualified. I have sailed on many other trips and could tell straight away that we were in good hands as Tony has the technical and practical skills to navigate and manoeuvre his beautiful large fully equipped yacht. He also had experience of the best ports of call ... not to mention the best pubs and restaurants when we got there! He is also extremely proficient in the galley (that's the kitchen to landlubbers) and produced some lovely meals and lunches. We had a really great trip combining good sailing and exploring the places we stopped at each day. The yacht is very spacious and comfortable to live aboard. I felt really refreshed after this holiday, had great fun with new friends, and would thoroughly recommend North Coast Sailing and it's friendly skipper Tony to anyone :-)
