We have visited and viewed Aberdeen harbour from land and water. e.g. the Footdee fishing village, the Ferry terminal area and also from the Orkney/Shetland ferry leaving the harbour. It has quite a narrow entrance and is a relatively busy working harbour with a number of vessels usually in port. Many of these are associated with the oil and green energy industries. It is interesting but we have seen harbours more varied in use and/or architecture, during our travels.

We were on the Torry side on the hill.
Amazing view right up the coast, and over the hatbour, and a bonus was the dolphins put on a display for us.

Arriving by sea from Newhaven Edinburgh we disembark at Aberdeen Harbour. The port is not very attractive unlike the beautiful city of Aberdeen known as the Granite City. Scotland's third largest city. Not far from the port the beautiful fishing village of Footdee.

Got a taxi to get there, bus do come but not too frequent.
Get a number to call for taxi otw back.
We came in Dec, it was very cold and windy.
Took some photos. Then went for lunch at The Silver Darling (nice).

The wildlife and the views here are amazing just some bits of it is really ugly as it’s a working industrial harbour. I wish 3.5 stars existed because that would be the score I would mark this harbour.

Walked all around the Harbour in Aberdeen which is much larger than I thought.
Many of the vessels are support vessels to the rigs but there are plenty of cargo vessel and roro ferries. The Harbour entrance is a nice place to enjoy the sea breeze and watch the ships go by. Plenty of photo opportunities. The Silver Darling restaurant serves nice meals and has a Birdseye view of the harbour entrance nearby the control centre.

A wide variety of ships in harbour, and you can get very close to them. Well worth a visit, if your in the area.

Mehrere Hundert Tonnen Fisch werden täglich in einem der größten Fischereihäfen Großbritanniens angelandet und auf der anschließenden Auktion verkauft (Auktionshalle bei "Market Street" beste Zeit 7-8 Uhr). Dementsprechend kann man am Regent Quay auch die großen Fischtrawler ankern sehen.
Am Commercial Quay liegen hauptsächlich die großen Tanker der Ölindustrie, aber auch einige Fähren.
Ein interessanter Ort, aber sicherlich kein Highlight von Aberdeen.

An interesting harbour with a wide variety of ships. Plenty of places to watch and explore. It needs more places to sit, more toilets and food facilities and wind and rain shelters

The harbour stretches from Union Square in the city right down to Fittie at the mouth of the River Dee. Huge numbers of vessels here including Shetland Ferry.
There are 3 separate dock basins to visit, one along Regent Quay, central area and Torry Dock along the riverside.
So many different types of vessels to see including huge oil support vessels.
One of the best areas to see this is at Torry going along the River to Torry Battery.
Great views from here over a different panoramic view. Also good views from 3rd floor of the Maritime museum which is free entry. At Torry Battery good view of the wind farm where they moor around 12 ships awaiting business.
There is a dry dock at end near Fittie which usually has some ships being worked on.

Hi there, I normally park on Marischal Street, there is parking there, but be aware I have a blue badge so don't have to worry about on street restrictions, so please check first
