Very lovely gym and amazing classes, try the yoga and body balance classes, if you like something more intense, try piyo or pilates. The only problem here is that the bathroom is irritating and I hope they fix this

Love going to RGU Sport, staff a very friendly and professional. There are plenty things to get involved with, loads of great classes with three fitness studios, 25m pool, 2 multi gym areas as well as the weights room for the big boys! There is also a large gymnasium where you can play badminton, netball, football....!

I attended this gym for a long time, its not cheap and gradually got busier and busier until there were often 2 people waiting to use a piece of equipment....not everyone cleans their sweat off the piece of apparatus they've just used and the aircon could be better. It seemed like the uni kept enrolling more and more people into the gym but didnt give a thought to how busy it would get. I no longer use this gym.

Quite small, don't like the fact that it's quite expensive. It's suppose to be cheap for students, might aswell get a membership elsewhere. Boxing bag needed.

I have a membership here only because it is the closest gym to where I live. I have been a member for almost two years now and to this day after many times asking they still lack proper cleaning agent and towels to wipe machines down. I have asked if there are towels for one of the gym areas only to be told that I must go through to a different area to fetch some. The proce of a membership isn't cheap and I'd expect there to be better hygiene in a place like this. Also the music they play for gym users is irritating...I mean who wants to be listening to the likes of cold play while lifting weights or in the cv suite. They could also do with some large TVs in the downstairs cv suite. This helps ppl take their mind off of the pain or boredom of a workout.

Have a year long membership here, really good value for money if you use it regularly. The classes are great and all of the facilities are really well kept.

went here a few years ago.
Wonderful facilities and very helpful and understanding staff.
Easy place to get to just get on the number 1 or 2 city bus and it takes you to the entrance.

I play volleyball periodically with some workmates, and RGU has proven to be a great venue for this.
The equipment is in good condition, and staff are great at getting it set up in a relatively timely fashion, even at busy times.
Staff at the front desk are always friendly and helpful.
I have a 'pay as you go' membership for hiring the volleyball court, and this proves to be good value - other memberships are available depending on what you will use.
Only conceivable complaint is that it sometimes takes a while to get through on the phone, and no online booking is available for the courts - online booking would really fit my usage case, as I frequently have to go back and forth several times with my workmates to find a time a court is available and everyone can make it!

Good place to go if you are visiting town or here for a short time and want some exercise classes, as you can pay for classes one at a time, likewise the pool but not gym as you need and induction. They allow too many people into the classes on a busy day, and you really need to know what you are doing as instruction very basic if you are a beginner at say pilates. Having said that it is not expensive as health clubs go and facitiities are brand new so if you go when it is quiet,(university holidays) very good value.
