‪The most beautiful view we've had in Scotland. Definitely worth the drive and walk !
The walk itself was not the best we've had : a lot of trees were cut down, and it was quite steep for children legs.‬

‪The Corrie fee trial is just over 4 miles there and back and is well pathed with all the way through woodland. The amphitheatre at the end of the trial is stunning on a clear day. Top tip: bring £3 in coins for parking - although you can use RingGo to pay for parking there is no mobile signal there at all!‬

‪Park at the Glen Doll Car Park & Ranger Base (£2 all day) and follow the green trail to the end where you will be rewarded with a spectacular view! If you are feeling energetic follow the trail through the magical corrie up to the Cairngorm Plateau. A truly magical place.
At the time of this review, the trails are currently closed due to extensive storm damage and the rangers advise not following the trails at present. Updates are available on the Nature Scot Corrie Fee website.‬

‪Corre Fee is one of these places that you are likely to love from the first sight. It was at least in my case and I will keep coming back here all over again.

There are different ways getting up there but the most popular and easiest for families with kids is accessing Corre Fee through the car park at Glen Doll, that is next to the Ranger Base. There is a small fee of £2 to leave car up there for the whole day and usually gets filled with cars very quickly. Though, I have never had any issues finding space to park a car myself.

Toilets opened 24/7 are next to the car park in the ranger's base. It is also worth speaking with rangers at the base to get some advice or pick up maps and leaflets before hitting track.

From the ranger's base just follow the road that takes walkers through the Glen Doll. Walking with kids it can take anytime between 1 hour and 2 hours to reach end of this road, or even longer if exploring sides of the road. Though, from end of the road there is a path leading straight to the Corre Fee. With kids it is an additional 15 minutes up to half hour to reach an entrance to Corre Fee. So, in total it can take anything between 1 hour 15 minutes and 2 and half hours one way if going with kids. It is definitely worth it.

On this ocassion we did not get through the corrie, because weather was really bad and being in the middle of it when it rains is not a pleasant experience at all. The winds can be really very strong in the corrie and temperatures up there can also be far bellow from what can be experienced in the Glen Doll. Therefore, regardless time of the year it is strongly recommended to take with you extra layers of clothing when considering to walk through the corrie. In order to walk through the corrie additional 1 hour is required when walking with kids, and if willing to climb the nearest summit above the corrie it would require probably an additional half hour up to 1 hour. It is steep climb and would only recommend to kids who are not afraid of heights.

The corrie itself is great place to explore for kids with interest in nature and animals, as much as for adult enthusiasts of outdoors. It is perfect spot for people with interest in geology too. The Corre Fee is a natural amphitheater carved by glacier and probably one of the very few such unique places in Scotland. I loved it from the very first sight and definitely will be coming back again and again. ‬

‪We were a group of 3 adults and 4 children (6,6,3&2 years old). At a fairly slow pace the walk took 1.5 hours there and an hour back. The are parts that are uphill (which was tough with a pushchair) but the majority was manageable. The last ascent to the fee was not at all suitable for the pushchair as it was very steep so we left it at the bottom. We took in the view, had some food and a little paddle in the water before heading back down.
The paths were clearly colour coded and sign posted. The car park is £2 per visit.‬

‪Wow, wow, wow
Only a three mile walk along a path, with gradual inclines and you reach
Natures amphitheatre. Stunning
The photos do not do it justice. The enormity and expanse makes you realise how insignificant you are. My no 1 spot. Love this place to reflect and just be!‬

‪Starting as a pleasant walk climbing up the hill through the forest for some 40 minutes in no rush, once arrived in front of the impressive amphitheatre, the route becomes slightly harder. Walking approx 15 mins the bottom of the glen, at the base of the mountain with a beautiful waterfall, a natural stone stairs leads you toward the top. Heard that people use to call this portion of the path "The devil stairs" which might give you an idea about the struggle to climb on it. Still do not worry, I saw children of 10 years doing it :-) so, "devil" isn't to dark as long you you will not push to much against it! A stop over near the waterfall would be a bless, some springs around offering clean water to drink. After a climbing of others 30-45 mins, on top of the waterfall, near the edge of the severe slope, you may feel like reining over the world, experiencing a sense of accomplishment after such effort... The majestic landscape is unforgettable...the fresh air, the joyful sound of the springs, the winds and the wide open scenery, all mean to let one feel free, confident and successful. Just to keep this positive anchor with you, do not forget to bring some food and more important, some sugar for the end, just to avoid the muscles soreness (and water if you do not trust the natural springs). The way back will be only a flight of maximum one hour. Have coins with you, the parking cost is £2. Do not stop to the restaurant before, but on return, good food. Excellent walk for a lovely Sunday,‬

‪After a gentle walk through the forest from the car park you climb a small rise to be met with the most stunning view towards the waterfall in the distance. If this doesn`t stop you in your tracks nothing will. It was totally unexpected on our first time there. Very dramatic views with hills on three sides of you. Easy walk towards the waterfall & then it gets very steep after that. Well worth seeing.‬
