Lovely tea room with good selection of cakes and scones. They also do breakfast - bacon roll great. Nice walk round the nature reserve which is free. Would love to come back when the sand martins are there.

The staff at Murton were so helpful in organising an amazing 3rd birthday party for my boy! The tipi area is just fab for an outdoor party and the extras we asked for were a huge hit with all the children at a very reasonable price. The mud kitchen was definitely everyone’s favourite and the loose parts and water play were great additions too! I wasn’t sure how well the treasure hunt at the end would work for this age group but it was so well organised and really engaged the children! The treasure box of party bags was a lovely way to end a great party! Thank you Murton!

We absolutely love Murton! We've been quite a few times since we had our first daughter and now with two kids it's a brilliant place to go. They do loads of great events for families. We've done wooden pig making, Santa's workshop, a moonlight torch walk, a rucksack ramble and more. The value for money is second to none and the staff are excellent, so friendly and good with the kids.
There's loads of play equipment for kids and my two have always loved seeing the chickens and getting to feed them and looking at the guinea pigs and ferrets and the donkeys. The walk around the nature reserve is lovely too.
The cafe is great, nice food, great cakes and the lady who is often serving is so chatty and helpful.
Just a genuinely lovely place to visit and such good value.

We took our 3yr old grandson to the Santas workshop event and can’t praise it highly enough,what a fantastic time we all had,he made a snowman,some jingle bells and a beautiful keyring with Santas help,fantastic value for money,loads for him to do,really lovely elves too,super present,the value for money was excellent and a lovely surprise to get our photo taken at the end,I hope they do this every year as would definitely go again.Well done ☺️

The Santa experience was just amazing. The kids loved every minute and the food was lovely. Spending time with Santa in his workshop making leather keyrings was definitely the highlight. Could not recommend it any more!

This place is fantastic for taking the kids to. Lovely farm where the kids can see donkeys, goats, ferrets, guinea pigs, chickens plus more. Great play area for kids as well. Nice place for a walk in the fresh air.

We enjoyed a walk around on a sunny autumn afternoon seeing an owl, lots of chickens, some hungry rabbits who loved the grass I gave them, pigs, ferrets, and guinea pigs. It was a good job we were both agile enough to climb over the padlocked gate we came to when leaving. I mean, don't they have CCTV to check that they're not locking someone in? I'm not sure what would happen with an elderly, disabled or handicapped person!! The cage staff just leaving told us there were signs saying closes at 4pm, but we didn't see any having walked there from the caravan park. And is the waist high gate really necessary as people can climb over it! It's not really secure for the animals, especially with no cctv.
We then enjoyed a walk round the circular route seeing gracing deer in the distance. Would have given 5/5 if we hadn't been locked in...

This was the best venue for our son’s second birthday party! So many people commented on what an amazing space the tipi area was for a party! The mud kitchen provided was the biggest hit with the children and they absolutely loved our visit from the guinea pigs and tortoises! The staff were so friendly and helpful! I was amazed by all the options for ‘add-ons’ when we first booked… it was so hard to pick! We also loved that we had the freedom to include our own things too. We ended up doing a treasure hunt and a couple of stations for playdough and colouring-in ourselves and it all worked out perfectly. We were prepared for all eventualities with the weather but I think some of the guests were particularly happy that it stayed bright and dry for us! It would have been fab whatever the weather though! THANK YOU!

Visited for the Murton makers experience and it was absolutely brilliant, our little girl was able to make her own wooden pig and thoroughly enjoyed it. The gentleman running it, kicking myself for not getting his name, was absolutely lovely and so good with the wee ones, getting them involved and making the experience brilliant.
We go to the farm fairly often and it’s a brilliant experience, plenty for the wee ones to play and do, for a variety of ages. I have written a separate review regarding the cafe, the farm experience itself I couldn’t fault.
Will definitely be back for more of these experiences, very well priced and really enjoyable.

Another great day out at Murton Farm and nature reserve - and we were blessed with glorious sunshine after all the rain this month!
Went with son -(kids are now £2.50 , adults free and it goes to the trust to support the farm) - he enjoys all the activities, trampolines, ball,giant building blocks, basketball etc - and the animals of course !
They also had a ‘petting hour’ today as well where the children could go in and hold/ sea the Guinea pigs and tortoises under supervision . My son had also been to one of their holiday (leather bookmaking ) activities as well a couple weeks ago - these are good days to go to in holidays.
As it was nice we also went for the long walk around the nature reserve - incredibly beautiful walk , peaceful and a chance to see hundreds of dragon/damselflies and butterflies as well.
The cafe is good as well - lots of tasty homemade soups / meals / cakes and scones . It was quieter today strangely though can be very busy at weekends - a lot of people enjoy stopping off here for breakfast or lunch!
