I waited for the advertised tour, when it never arrived I called the telephone number to be told (abruptly) the tour was not on in 2018. The company need to remove advert

Would have been useful if someone had mentioned on here that this is no longer running!!

Love the feel, buzzing with people from all over the world. Gateway to the Islands ferrys coming and going. Great place to be for touring around. Plenty places to visit around the area, good transport, trains buses etc

City Sightseeing Oban bietet drei verschiedene Touren in die nähere Umgebung an. Bei der fast dreistündigen Tour geht es mit dem Bus (offener Dachbereich) zuerst nach Norden, zur stählernen Connelbridge. Anschließend wieder zurück nach Oban und dann südlich weiter, durch wunderschöne Highland-Natur, durch kleine Dörfer mit typischen Steinhäusern und wuchtigen Kirchtürmen bis zur alten Steinbrücke über den Atlantik. Die Natur wird immer wilder und einsamer. In Ellenabeich, auf Easdale Island, macht der Bus eine Pause. Hier lohnt es, sich umzusehn! In der Oysterbar gibt es, in gemütlicher Pubatmosphäre, lokale Gerichte ... besonders die Langusten sind hervorragend! Mehr "typisches" Schottland kann man in kurzer Zeit nicht sehen - die Tour ist absolut empfehlenswert!

The day was very wet the speakers on the bus were broken. The bus driver was a friendly cheery chap. We sat out side to our amusement we got soaked by the trees 😂😂 The tour was fairly short but for people who have never been to Oban would have been informative passing connel bridge and falls of Lora . Not sure about the last part round the town but the bus would be limited to go more scenic parts but all in all would recommend

Our 3-hour trip from Oban was a frankly bizarre journey the like of which I have never experienced in my 55 years. Sitting on a double decker bus traversing singe track roads, crossing narrow bridges and doing sharp turns in small villages was embarrassing and terrifying in equal measure. It is surely not appropriate transport for an area like this. It must also be a terrible imposition for the inhabitants of these small villages to have a massive red bus leering into the houses three times a day.
The roof of the bus regularly collided with overhanging branches, at times threatening to break windows. Your driver had to also do the commentary which didn't lead one to feeling like his mind as fully on either job. When crossing one narrow bridge, it felt actually dangerous and an accident waiting to happen. I find it hard to believe it was even legal to do so.
Worse yet, there simply isn't enough points of interest to flesh-out 3 hours. When you're resorting to passing off a brief glimpse of Frances Shand Kydd's house as interesting, you know you've hit rock bottom. Except we hadn't, because we were soon to end up at the unintentionally hilarious Highland Arts Centre. Have you been there? Well, why would you?
It has Ainsley Harriet Soup, you know? John is very proud of his Ainsley Harriet Soup apparently, we were told. Well which "arts centre" isn't? He buys it in and heats it up like an expert, I should think.
This whole, surreal place, appeared to be one man's mausoleum to his late father's dubious talents. He was said to be a painter, though this was open to doubt given the laughable art that littered the walls.
But regardless of the fact it wasn't an arts centre, we could not understand why this huge bus had come roaring through a conservation village to take us to this hapless shed of tat (selling chamois leathers cheaper than B & Q it boasted - as any "arts centre" does). It all smacked of someone doing their mate a favour by driving some traffic to try and milk for money.
Why were we there? What was the point? To say it was amateurish would be to do a disservice to the amateur. As the man who ran it waved goodbye to the bus, I was left with the impression that he had to be some shade of insane. The fact we'd been co-opted into this insanity was not a happy feeling. If it had been a scene out of the League of Gentleman, it would have been deemed too far-fetched.
We were relieved to make it back to Oban without dying and were left feeling not only was it a waste of three hours and of money, but that it was actually insulting to our intelligence and played fast and loose with our safety. We will certainly never forget it.

Firstly, we're genuinely sorry that you didn't enjoy the tour as it has been created by our local management to take in places of interest in and around Oban and, during the many years it has operated, been well received by customers.
Secondly, there are some serious accusations within your review that we would like to address:
1. Safety. Everything we do is entirely legal and safety is of paramount importance. We are one of the main local transport providers in Argyll and Bute as well as on Mull and have been so for many years so have vast knowledge of the roads and what vehicles are appropriate and safe to operate. Our drivers are local, experienced and good at what they do, including providing a safe journey while also providing commentary. We would therefore take huge issue with your review and the suggestion that the tour is unsafe in any way.
2. The tour route. The route is one we have used for many years (without incident) and takes in great scenery and also places of interest within the local area, including the Isles of Seil and Easdale as well as Oban itself. While these places were obviously not to your particular taste, these places are of interest to others. At no point throughout operating this tour have we received any complaints from local people about our bus passing by their homes or businesses. We also, categorically, do not receive any benefit, financial or otherwise, from visiting The Highland Arts Centre. The fact that we stop there is simply to allow a 'comfort' break for our customers where they can stretch their legs, take photographs and, if they want to, visit The Highland Arts Centre.
Finally, whilst you are perfectly entitled to your opinion and to post your review, we would suggest that if you had any serious concerns regarding safety, a more appropriate response would be to speak with the driver, visit our shop (2 minutes from where you disembarked) to raise a formal complaint with our staff or to get in touch with us via phone or email.

A more than two hours tour in a beautiful area. The busdriver's guidance was interesting, detailed about geography, history, and his driver skills were great on those special roads. We have enjoyed every minute of the trip. The stop was at the Highland Arts Exhibition, where we met very kind and friendly staff. The old building had a special atmosphere, I could spend more time there.

Oban zelf. De brug bij Connel, de watervallen van Lora, de brug over ' the Atlantic' en de natuur en de leisteenwinning op Seil en het prachtige Easdale Island. Met het enthousiasme van Collin en de trots op zijn regio, een geweldige tijd. Vertrek 11.30 en om 14.30 weer terug in Oban.

This afternoon we took the Oban city sightseeing open top bus to Easdale. This is the 11:30am LONG tour with live commentary and approximately a 30 minute stop in Easdale. The tour started off by heading out of town towards the falls and Connell bridge before heading back into town again before heading off in the opposite direction to Easdale, the isle of Seil and the bridge over the Atlantic. The live commentary was great, the driver was very careful on the roads - there had been accidents on both roads just that morning, one of which required the air ambulance - and the scenery was stunning despite the rain. Highly recommended.

The bus has open top and indoor seats [in case of rain]. Journey lasts about 1 hour 20 mins and there's driver commentary. Starts outside Oban Rail Station and visits Corran Halls, Connel Bridge, Oban Airport, Dunstaffnage Castle, Dunollie Castle and Ganavan Sands so it's a good way to find out about the area. There are 4 tours a day [about every 2 hours from 10am] in the season and I got off at Dunstaffnage Castle and rejoined the tourbus next time it came round. We also had time for a short walk on Ganavan Sands. The tour ticket can also be used on West Coast Motors local buses for that day.
