Homemade Cullen Skink with Crusty Bread (Creamy smoked haddock, onion and potato doup) First time trying this and I must say it was delicious. Staff very friendly, dog friendly and food came piping hot Highly recommend.

Prior to travelling from the Midlands to Oban, I Facebook Messaged Oban Bay Brewery asking about the best places to sample their ales whilst I was stopping overnight in Oban. Initially, I got a positive response, saying the beer would be available on draught at Cuan Mor and the Oban Inn.
We tried Cuan Mor first. This is billed (as far as I am aware) as a restaurant, pub and brewery. The restaurant is fairly evident as most (if not all) people are dining. We walked in and asked to go to the brewery at the back and was advised it was closed and we wasn't allowed in the back. I turned to the bar and there was no real ale at all! I quizzed the waiter and again was told there is no Oban Bay beer nor able to visit the back room which I was expecting to be a pub. This wasn't a proper brewery, no beer, no tasters etc. We left hoping the Oban Inn would be more accommodating. Again no Oban Bay Brewery Beer. I messaged the brewery again whilst drinking a pint of average Jarl by Fyne Ales at the Oban Inn and was told that was strange but didn't elaborate of any further details. Why isn't any of this local beer in the Wetherspoons across town? By some strange miracle, the hotel we were staying in - The Best Western at Oban - had a couple of bottles in their fridge so I did manage to sample some of the beer eventually but not in the manner or the venues I was expecting. Poor show all round.

Set behind the Cuan Mor bar on the harbour front, the brewery produces a range of beers usual natural ingredients. The Cuan Mor bar, which also has a restaurant, acts as an outlet for the beers.

I first came into the Oban Bay Brewery for a friends live gig (The Music Was Excellent!! but..).The gig was set in the back of Cuan Mor in the 'brewery'' part of the restaurant. At the bar in the brewery room, they didn't even serve their own beer.? To get one of there brews I had to go to the Cuan Mor bar, which isn't far, but they only had 2 beers available. Inside the brewery 'tasting room'' (?) there was a few fermentation vessels pressed against the viewing windows of the brewery to create a back drop to the brewery, but if you looked close enough, there was an empty warehouse just beyond with hardly any other equipment? Is this a place a gimmick? I wa really expecting a really micro brewery experience.... I guess I will just head to ''Fyne Ales'' to get the experience I was expecting... Shucks!

Tiny distillery, but the tour guide was so knowledgable (Bill). And for the price, great value for money with 2 tastings and a free gift. I think everyone should give this place a go.

An empty room in the back of a pub wasn't exactly what we were hoping for when we stopped in but that's all we found. Too bad we were ready to have a pint and likely buy a t-shirt bit none existed.

Trying to get a drink of Oban Bay Brewery beer was like being the customer
in the Monty Python cheese shop sketch. They just didnt seem to have
any of their Brewery beer. Instead of being told they were out of beer we were served
(after a considerable wait) 2 pints which were cloudy and full of dregs. When we complained we were told that after they had changed the barrel they would bring us fresh pints. After another considerable wait we were given 2 more (fresh?) pints. Again cloudy and dreg filled. This whole debacle took 30 minutes. We asked for our money back which we got.
I felt cross that twice I had been fobbed off with a defective product, with no regard for customer service. For this reason I award 1 star

Το Oban είναι καταπληκτικό παραθαλάσσιο μέρος για να απολάυσεις seefood όχι μόνο σε restaurants αλλά και ως street food καθισμένος σε παγκάκι απολαμβάνοντας με μια παγωμένη μπύρα, την θέα των πολυσχιδών ακτών που προβάλονται μπροστά σου. Προσοχή όμως στα περισσότερα restaurants το φαγητό σταματά στις 15:00. Αξίζει να επισκεφθείτε το Oban Distillery που βρίσκεται στην παραλία της πόλης.

Went here for beer. Nothing on draft but the bottled skinny blond was great. Decided to have fish and chips as a starter. Great choice. The food was fresh and the staff were very friendly.

I like to try local beers, and was delighted to discover that there was a microbrewery behind the Cuan Mor restaurant and bar. So we went in, only to discover that they didn't have any - not the draught (my preference) nor the dark ale (my partner's). We asked if anywhere else would have it and were sent to Sloans Bar underneath the Waterfront Restaurant. They didn't have any either, but the barman said there'd be some available on the Thursday (2 days later): presumably running out is an occupational hazard of a small brewery...
So, Thursday evening, great anticipation. I was really disappointed in the draught (Ginger Jakey) - it was a largely tasteless concoction, For all that it was pulled up with a hand pump, its actual taste reminded me of nothing so much as pissy American lager - Bud, Coors, that sort of thing: bland, inoffensive, nothing to make you actually like it. I couldn't even be bothered to finish it. My partner tried the dark ale (Skelpt Lug) and found that pretty bland too - nothing like as nice as the Williams Brothers Midnight Sun she'd had elsewhere.
Frankly, the pint of Deuchars I had in the Lorne Bar round the corner was a much nicer pint - although, when I went back there to wash away the Jakey, they'd run out of that.... If you want a reliable drink in Oban, you might consider the local Tesco's, which does have a good selection of Scottish brews.
