Where do we even begin to describe this incredible tour experience with Calais?!?!?! My husband and I took our young teen grandson to the UK as a special gift. Calais met us at the airport in the wee hours and because our grandson is a huge Harry Potter fan, he took us through Edinburgh to see the sights and take pictures. He even gave us a surprise drive through the suburbs to see some unique and beautiful homes. From there we travelled to the Highlands. The weather was cold and a bit damp but we had a beautiful, roomy elegant van to travel in. Calais has a vast knowledge of Scotland, has a wonderful, witty, happy personality. He made our grandson feel like a peer and he took us to places that were absolutely stunning. We had a gorgeous walk in the woods and viewed waterfalls, he explained the importance of the natural landscape in Scotland’s history; we took a boat ride and went to castle ruins. We stayed at a lovely hotel at River Ness. We fell in love with Inverness and it’s charms. Everything from soup to nuts was taken care of for us. We will most certainly be returning again with family and friends. THANK YOU!

I've been on multiple trips with Experienced Tours whenever family visits from the states and each one has been excellent. This time, we went through the Highlands with our guide Calais who - despite the Scottish weather in December - showed us some of the wonderful sights in the Highlands.

Our tour with Sandy was absolutely incredible—if we could give him 6 out of 5 stars, we would! He was so kind, knowledgeable, and truly went above and beyond to customize the tour based on what we wanted to see. Sandy provided fascinating, in-depth history of Edinburgh, sharing stories and insights that brought the city to life. His passion for what he does was clear, and his warmth made the experience feel personal and memorable. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide and would highly recommend Sandy to anyone looking for an exceptional tour experience!

Laura was an excellent guide. We packed a full day with six locations and she kept us on track and still gave us time to enjoy each location. Our first time doing a private tour and extremely glad we did! Would definitely use this company again.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Ancient Orkney tour with Laura MacKenzie as our guide. My stepdaughter and I made it to many of the neolithic sites that I hoped to see as well as other important sites that reflect the culture and history of Orkney. On the first day when our luggage didn't arrive with us at the airport in Inverness, Laura handled the crisis smoothly taking us to shops in Inverness where we found warm clothing and rearranging the tour to accommodate the delay caused by the missing luggage which finally arrived two days later at the Kirkwall Hotel on the main island of Orkney. Overall it was an outstanding trip and I have many great memories of the experience.

This experience was so amazing!
Our driver Laura did an incredible job, she made this a very memorable trip for us and I’m very thankful for her.
She took us to see castle and tell us more about the history. She really was so wonderful and we are truly blessed to have had her as our tour.
I highly recommend this tour, if I ever come back to visit I’ll definitely hire them again!

Laura was AMAZING! She was full of knowledge of the the history of Scotland and the places we stopped. Lunch was wonderful as well. The van was spacious and comfortable. We would book again!

Amazing private tour. Our tour guide Debbie, was so nice, and knowledgeable about the sites. She really took a great tour to another level with her personality and professionalism!
The minivan was clean and comfortable and a great alternative to bus/mini bus crowds.
Would highly recommend.

Our guide was Rob who was absolutely phenomenal. We were traveling with a newborn baby and a 3 year old toddler who was proving difficult straight from the go when Rob arrived to pick us up. He was very patient and accommodating while we got settled into the van. As we drove out to Stirling Castle, Rob was full of knowledge of Scotland and its history, which was a great way to set the stage for our exploration of the castle. The parking was completely full, so Rob dropped us off at the entrance and gave us some tips on where to go once inside to get the best experience. Then he took us to a great restaurant called The Oak on our way to Loch Lomond. This was some of the best food we had in Scotland, and it was decently affordable. Next on our wishlist was to see some Scottish Highland cows, and Rob knew just the spot. We got to hand feed and take pictures with a couple cows and grab some souvenirs at the farmstand's shop. On our way back, we wanted to grab some hard to find whisky to take home, and Rob knew just the shop that could help us along the way. This was a great way to explore a bit of Scotland outside the main city area, and it was so pleasant to have a driver to handle all the logistics rather than renting a car to do it ourselves. Plus Rob was so knowledgable and friendly, it was the icing on the cake!

The tour of the Highlands and Loch Ness was the highlight of our trip to Scotland. Our guide/driver, Alan, went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. More importantly, my wife and I actually enjoyed being stuck in a van with him for 11 hours. He’s the kind of person who can get along with anyone, and just shooting the breeze with him made the time fly by.
