We had the most magical time in the Scottish Highlands. This tour far surpassed any and all expectations I had, thanks in large to our fabulous tour guide. Chris was lovely from the moment we met him and went out of his way the entire time to accommodate us. Not only is he a talented tour guide but he’s also a great person who radiates positive energy. Although we had just met it felt like we had known him for years. Chris was so thoughtful and patient with our group, plus he knew of all the best spots. His recommendations ended up being my favorite parts of the tour. We met and fed a highland cow, visited fairies on a mountain side, and washed our faces in the river of youth. The ability to customize the tour to our liking while maintaining flexibility was fantastic. All of our lodging accommodations for the week were adorable and fun too! Thank you Chris for an unforgettable holiday. 10/10. Highly recommend.

With Brian Collie’s expert guidance, we designed the perfect tour for first-timers to Scotland.
We journeyed from Glasgow to Edinburgh with Stuart. He picked us up promptly at 8am and we traversed the hills and dales of Scotland. From Killin to St. Andrew’s. He shared stories and history and so much more.
Highly recommend!

We went on a one-day Highlands tour with Brian and it's been the best day ever which made us fall in love with Scotland! We will definitely be back to have a longer trip with him!
He weaves fascinating stories about Scotland, tailoring them to our interests, his storytelling is exceptional!
Brian is warm, friendly and genuinely passionate about Scotland and showing off the best of it! He ensures everyone is comfortable, including providing excellent transport with blankets, water, umbrellas etc to make the most comfortable trip! What's important is that Brian is extremely knowledgeable about the world, having travelled to so many countries and his rich life experience and authenticity definitely added to a wonderful journey!
Thank you Brian and we'll see you again soon!

Relatively random googling for a custom hiking tour of the Scottish Highlands brought us to Personal Tours of Scotland and we couldn’t be happier with our fate. Personal Tours of Scotland (Brian Collie) was so easy to work with – no struggling to adapt a canned tour. They just took our wish list and created the perfect experience. We had a beautiful, comfortable van, outstanding guide resources, recommendations on excellent accommodations, dining and insight into the best way to see the highlands while staying off the beaten path.
Somehow we lucked into having Brian Collie (the owner) as our guide and he made the trip that much more outstanding. As if the highlands weren’t beautiful enough all by themselves, Brian made them come alive with his extensive knowledge of Scottish history and vast repertoire of stories, folklore, and song, delivered in his beautiful voice (seriously, the man should sing for a living)! He has a great sense of humor and knows how to provide what his travelers want. He made it look effortless to find us stunning beaches, great eateries, and breathtaking hikes and views, but we know he went above and beyond to show us a grand time. He interrupted longer drives with a little walk in an enchanted forest or a little shopping. What he showed us of his beloved Scotland made us all want to come back to explore more. But most of all, we just really liked spending time with him. Thank you, Brian!

Choosing Personal Tours of Scotland for our 14-day tour of Scotland was the best travel decision we’ve ever made! We didn’t want to take a group bus tour or drive on the left. Problem solved.
On a zoom call with Brian Collie, he added some ideas to what we had in mind along with hotel suggestions. We booked our own accommodations and selected the final itinerary choices.
Big shout-out to our amazing driver/personal guide, Stephen Hay! He was super personable, and quite the renaissance man. An author, knowledgeable historian, artist, & fun-loving guy, we felt immediately comfortable with him. We learned so much of the history of the country, and he presented it in such an engaging and interesting way. We laughed, we sang, he quoted Burns, & every day he treated us with a surprise destination.
When Steve was notified by Brian that our ferry from Mallaig to Skye was canceled, Steve knew a beautiful back way to a small, historic ferry. If we had been on our own, we would have been clueless and stuck. Steve avoided the big tour buses at main attractions, so we didn’t have to deal with crowds. He also knew the perfect photo spots. When the weather was being tricky, he suggested we switch around two days of our itinerary. It was wonderful to sit back and be able to enjoy the dramatic and beautiful scenery (there aren’t enough adjectives).
Brian and his staff were very responsive to our questions and concerns prior to the trip. There is no question that we would choose Personal Tours of Scotland for our next visit to this wonderful country.

Just got back from an amazing trip with Chris C. as our guide. Chris regaled and amazed us with his knowledge and love of Scotland. I especially enjoyed his account of Scottish legends and myths. He took us to places we would never have found on our own. Great attention to detail. Scotland is a must see.

We recently toured Scotland with Personal Tours of Scotland with Ross Hartill as our guide. Our expectations were exceeded as Ross showed us his beautiful country! We visited ancient castles, monuments and the amazing highlands in all of its majesty. The bonus were the smaller, off the beaten track waterfalls and sites Ross suggested along our route. We highly recommend Personal Tours of Scotland - be sure to book with Ross!

We just returned from a wonderful 6 day tour of Scotland - the Highlands and Isle of Skye. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Ross. While we visited all the must sees, Ross took us to places that we would have never found on our own which was magical. Ross was an excellent guide - professional, personable and was able to anticipate our needs and wants. We also did a walking tour of Edinburgh with Brian which was terrific. If you are planning a trip to Scotland, I would highly recommend booking it through Personal Tours of Scotland and getting Ross as your guide!

Just got back from a wonderful 6 day tour and loved every minute of it. Ross, our driver was very knowledgeable, professional, and a pleasure to be around. He planned our days perfectly and really met all of our needs. I highly recommend this tour group and specifically Ross.

How to book/find out price a day trip for family of 4, tomorrow or Tuesday

Sorry, but we are normally booked well in advance, (sometimes a year!).
All tours are bespoke and designed around you so each tour has a different price as they contain didfferent requirements.
Hope you got sorted.
Whenver you have last minute enquiries it is alweays better to phone!

Hi Brian
Greetings from Boston. My son and are are looking into coming to Scotland the week of May 23rd for a few nights to tour all your wonderful whiskey distilleries. We were hoping to come On Tuesday (arriving Wed am) and stay thru Friday or Sat. Are you available at this time for touring? . My son turns 21 that Tuesday ( a big deal here!) And I've turned him into quite the Scotch afficando.

Hi. This question came to a previous client of Brian's and not Brian. I'm guessing it was from a review I had posted. At any rate, if you are able to book a tour with brian you won't be disappointed....I lived in Europe for three years and he gave the best tour hand down.

I have been emailing with Brian for a couple of weeks. He said he has availability on the day we are in Scotland for a tour and provided prices, but since then has not responded to our interest and willingness to book a day tour. I have emailed him 4 times and no response. I assume he is on another tour, but we wish to confirm. I am trying this route in hopes of getting a response. Is there another email I should use? Thank you.

Hi there, I am staying three nights in Callander and am looking for things to do in the area. I would very much like to see Stirling and possibly the Isle of Skye and am wondering what tour options you offer, and the rates? I am a solo traveller on a bit of a budget, but hope to make the best of the time I have in the area. Many thanks!
