Faw Kirk Historic Graveyard is located in the grounds of Falkirk Trinity Church. The graveyard is named after Faw Kirk church which stood on the site of Trinity Church and is believed to be the first Christian structure in Falkirk. The graveyard has various tombs and memorials including those from the era of William Wallace. Probably the most important is the tomb of Sir John de Graeme who was William Wallace’s most respected knight and it is believed that William Wallace took Sir John de Graeme to the graveyard himself. I visited the graveyard in September 2020 and it was particularly quiet, the entrance is at Manse Place and close to the High Street.

This graveyard of Falkirk Old Parish Church. A bit strange to find a graveyard in the centre of a town. The main attraction here is the tomb of Sir John de Graham’s tomb, a hero of the Scottish wars of independence and comrade in arms to the more famous William Wallace.

Took advantage of this site being open with local amateur historians giving background detail. A fascinating look into the past

There are some interesting grave stones to explore and it is very convenient, just off the High Street. Some seating and the church operates a cafe which is lovely.

La Ville de Falkirk est petite mais mignonne
On peut s'y promener, explorer les passages intrigants et pour ceux qui sont adeptes il y a bien entendu tout un tas de références à William Wallace

A bit of Falkirk past,location not known by many. Not much to see however. Its located adjacent to a very busy car park and the tattie kirk, surrounded by local business premises.

Had some time to burn, decided to visit here, this is a small well kept ancient and historical graveyard,in the heart of falkirk. Worth a visit.

We visited the graveyard on a day when the William Wallace Society and various SNP members were commemorating the Battle of Falkirk in 1298 (which the Scots unfortunately lost). People dressed up in thirteenth century costumes made the graveyard look very colourful and there was a pipe band to add to the sense of occasion. If you visit on a more ordinary day, there is a nice cafe attached to the church which is well worth patronising - only a few steps away from the main shopping streets. The graves themselves are worth examining, as are the explanatory plaques.

I found this by accident as I was trying to locate a restaurant. It is an old church that is believed to be the basis of the name Falkirk. Some of the stones are old but the star was the grave protected by railings. The plaque stated that this is the grave of one ofWilliam Wallace's knights. Just another piece of Scottish history in an unexpected place.
