Beautiful course and views. Appropriately challenging. Staff was outstanding especially the starter. Highlight of our trip to St. Andrews.

1st time playing the Castle Course and loved the whole experience. Great clubhouse with welcoming staff and the course is totally different from the other courses in St Andrews. It was a windy day and was a tough track but thoroughly enjoyed it.

Not the usual St Andrews golf course. There are lots of elevation changes and the course plays reasonably straight forward. After the first few holes it becomes evident that the green complexes are the wanna-be star of the course. They are huge and kind of goofy with unreasonable mounds throughout. Great add on to play once. The New and the Jubilee courses are much better options if you can’t get on the Old Course

The welcome when we arrived was fabulous and they explained the site and where everything was. The shop was, as usual here, a bit pricy, but the staff were great. Loved the fact that the range was free. I played with my son and we were paired with a chap from California. He had booked a caddy and he was really helpful too, I recommend using a caddy if you can. The views and layout were spectacular, the course was in good condition and the greens were true and fairly fast. In places the rough was penal, which is how it should be if you go off line too far.
This was a once in a life time experience and the course and staff backed that up. I loved it, thank you.

The course is outside of St Andrew’s but runs by the coastline for stunning views (when the sun is shining which it was). As expected with links courses, accuracy is necessary. There are blind shots, so I found a caddie very useful. The greens seemed to run true. Staff and caddie were very friendly. Overall had an enjoyable round.

Just returned from a week in st.andrews with my son the highlight for me was playing this Fantastic course and the friendly welcome we received in the clubhouse, we done the package which included the golf and a meal afterwards in the clubhouse. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who explained everything we had to do we went into the restaurant where we were greeted by a lovely lady didn't get her name but she was in charge, she told us she would take our meal order at the halfway house just incase the round took longer than we thought. So we had a drink went to the Fantastic practice area then headed to first tee.got underway exactly on time and after 9 holes the lovely lady met us at halfway house and took our orders .we finished round and to make it extra special my son shot level par on a demanding course.went to restaurant met by the lady who showed us to a nice table with fantastic views. A great day thanks to all the castle course staff.

Just been on a two day trip to St Andrews with my son as a surprise present for his 30th Birthday.
Fantastic trip and great golf the highlight being a round at The Castle Course.
The organisation was superb and the course very challenging but in superb condition.
The best part was the friendliness of the staff,particuarly the bar/kitchen service.
We had pre round meal as part of our package,the food was excellent and they couldn't do enough for us! We did not use our full allowance so they instructed us how to book a snack/drinks at the halfway house and then had them ready when we arrived. after the 9th hole.
To top it off we finished quite late and the bar manager came outside to say they were nearly closing but they would stay open if we wanted a drink.We politely declined to let them go home but they definitely went above and beyond.
I would recommended the course and the facilities 100%.

Probably the nicest golf course I have ever golfed. First off the all the staff are so happy, friendly and helpful...they make you feel like this will be special. The course is super hard...miss the fairway and you probably won't find your ball. The conditions were perfect with light/moderate breezes. The views are stunning. There are not enough superlatives to say about my day on the Castle Course.

Played this course as a treat for my Dads 80th birthday. The service when arriving is great and the staff excellent. This brilliantly designed course was in good condition with easy access to tees for walking or trolley using players and the buggy paths are unobtrusive to the course. Playing the course is challenging from the tee to the very very sloped greens. I've played this course for the back tees before (very tough) but this time, for Dad, we played from the forward tees. It's still tough as all the trouble is reachable for average hitters. So you still need to plot your shots to stay out of the rough and bunkers. The greens are insanely sloped, so you'll need to get the ball to the correct level to have a slight chance of birdie. If you're having a good round you'll still need to beware of the 17th par 3. Hitting the green is challenging.
This course is nothing like the other St Andrews trust courses, almost flat, I can only describe it as a links course on steroids.

Fantastic course, welcoming and informative staff and excellent facilities. The course is well designed and maintained, holes are challenging, as reflected by slope index, but fair and manageable fir a mid handicapper. Given the footfall it has the fairways are in great condition and fast. Greens are tough to hold in places and sone have pretty extreme contours but they run true and are mostly very large.
We loved it. It was fifth round of the week and probably the most enjoyable. Definitely going to return.

Dependant on traffic, in a car from the airport it should only take 1hr 15 mins roughly.
