The building is beautiful, the tour well done and informative. And our tour guide Margaret was an absolute delight. She was charming and funny and definitely added to the experience.

Walk in there as a break from all the shopping. The ground floor is free to view. If you want to see more, you can join a guide. Absolutely worth it!

Thank you Morgan for an extremely informative and well presented tour on Thursday. The tour is free and lasted an hour which is just right. The rooms were magnificent and emphasises Glasgow's wealth back in the day. Morgan kept all of us engaged with great facts and fun jokes.

Excellent tour led by Liam. Very informative and lots of fun facts to take away. The building is amazing and it’s so good that they let the public view it. If you like history then this is the place to go. You won’t be disappointed.

The building itself is imposing but the entrance hallway beautiful and elegant. Marble abounds and is a beautiful brownish red colour. We could not see the council chamber itself or the suites which was a disappointment but hopefully we will see them next time. I was very impressed by the banqueting hall which is huge and stunning. The tour lasted an hour which was just right. It’s free too which is great. Well worth going on if you can get a ticket.

Liam did an excellent job of showing us around the City Chambers as well as explaining the architecture and history of the building.
It is well worth a visit but arrive early as it has limited space (25) and only goes at 10:00 and 2:30.
It is also free.
A great look into Glasgow's rich history as well as a very beautiful building.
Even got a chance to sit in the Lord Provost's Chair.

Large building occupying the entire eastern side of George Square. Built in neoclassical style between 1882 and 1888, it well reflects Victorian civic architecture. The tours (guided and free) take place from Monday to Friday at 10:30 and 14:30 and when we arrived (at 16:00) it was unfortunately late. We were therefore content to see the exterior, whose facade rich in statues, columns, friezes and other decorative elements is undoubtedly appreciated and represents the main Attraction of the square.

The building is pretty from the outside but really stunning from the inside. It's well worth a visit, and it's free!! Margaret our tour guide was great. Enjoyed her humour 😄

When we visited The Scottish Parliament building,there was a full size cardboard cutout of Nicholas Sturgeons.Can anyone guarantee me that this will not happen in Glasgow’s City Chambers ?

I Don't know Nicholas Sturgeons, I do know Nicola Sturgeon who happens to be Scotlands First Minister. As the City Chambers are Council offices i very much doubt if there's a cardboard cutout of her.

Just walk in and have a look, it's a lovely building. The private bits are always out of bounds I guess. A guide will enhance your visit, sure, but its still worth a quick visit regardless.

The statues on the tower are the Four Seasons, with the Apex statues being Truth, Riches and Honour. The main 'Apex' statue is Truth...commonly known as Glasgow's Statue of Liberty because of it's close resemblance to the American statue.
