Such a cramped small cinema with nowhere to put your juice and if you’ve got long legs forget it. Too intimate a cinema with too many people making lots of noise with crisp packets and noisy wrappers. Would definitely not return even though it’s a beautiful cinema.

Just a lovely Glasgow cinema experience. Old yet trendy with a hint of modern . Well worth a visit and staff excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Beautiful cinema situated in the centre of Glasgow! Had a lovely experience seeing Monster in the wonderful theatre like screen. Helpful staff and overall great experience. Would definitely return!

I was lucky enough to be visiting when the film festival was taking place. Though I only saw one film it was a great opportunity to visit this theatre which has three screens. It was located close to an overwhelming number of eateries and I believe there was a cafe on the premises as well.

Only visited the bar because we were staying nearby.
Small but lovely bar area . Perfect for an early evening drink. Staff friendly and efficient.
Definitely one to come back to.

Before the pandemic I'd maybe been here a couple of times in a decade. Everything else I just saw at Cineworld but lockdown made me realise just how important independent cinema is and in that regard you don't get much better than the Glasgow Film Theatre.
It has honestly become my favourite place in the city. When the majority of cinemas in Glasgow are just different variations of the same multiplex showing the exact same things as each other the GFT offers uniqueness and variety both in its building, atmosphere and film selection.
Each of the three screens have their own personality. Screen #1 is amazing for big events, it's spacious and when it's packed there's nothing like it. Screen #2 feels like stepping back into the 1940s which is why I deliberately waited to see Nightmare Alley until I could catch it in cinema 2. Then screen #3, the smallest and newest, is the most comfortable, intimate and modern which is great for films like last year's Drive My Car.
Staff are always absolutely wonderful as well. Friendly and always happy to help. Really cannot sing their praises enough.
There's also a range of options available to you in terms of price with concessions, cheaper afternoon screenings and the £45 a year Cinecard gets you £1.50 off each ticket and gives you 4 free tickets to any standard screenings so basically pays for itself. Go enough and you'll have a good amount of loyalty points as well. It's great for people who want to support independent cinema but can't afford to at a higher price.
There's also the special events like Q&As. My favourite being the one with Mamoru Hosoda for a preview of 'Belle' which was mesmerising. A real buzz about the place and every other event I've been to here has been so well organised.
So if, like me, lockdown showed you how much independent theatre matters then get yourself down here, give something new a try and fall in love like I did.

Thrilling, immersive retro-antique cinema let down slightly by shoddy staff. It’s interesting premise makes good way for art film and experimental cinema.
While also including popular films, though some films might not be for children, it’s a lovely experience for older film goers; however it’s mask policies do make the seeing slightly uncomfortable. Good experience, bad staff, strange policies- mediocre viewing.

Great to be back at GFT after lockdown. Seemed well organised. Really enjoyed excellent French film 'Les Miserables'.

Is it worth going to the 35mm screenings instead of the normal digital showings? Never seen a 35mm movie before!
