This was my second visit to Williamwood and once again I was very impressed with everything about the Club.
I was invited to join a Society Outing and found the fee for the days was remarkably inexpensive given the most enjoyable day I had.
Arrival in glorious sunshine was met with a bacon roll and coffee before attending the luxuriously fitted out locker room. A short walk to the 1st tee gave a hint of what was to come. The condition of the course given the long hot and dry couple of months was absolutely stunning and, although the greens were a touch slow, they were very true. Tees and fairways were equally impressive and finding our way around the course was straightforward.
Afterwards, there is a seated area outside the clubhouse and the furniture was very comfortable, a nice way to enjoy a refreshing drink whilst waiting for the others in the group to finish and a two course dinner could be served.
The two course meal was stunning, well presented and very tasty, and the quantity was equally impressive. The food was promptly served by cheery waiting staff.
If you are arranging a Society Outing in the Greater Glasgow area, you could do a lot worse than give WGC your custom!

Visited for an evening meal with a group of colleagues. The price of the 3 course set menu was very good, also a good selection meals. The chef (David) was very good cook - one of the best meals I’ve had for a while. The inside of the club is very comfortable and clean. The actual l golf course is really lovely with brilliant views. Its like being in the countryside. All in all i would recommend the club

What a fantastic course, beautifully presented and fantastic hospitality and club house facilities. Best day out this summer in gorgeous weather.

Very good and the golf corse has a stunning view from secretin places and it is really good for kids and adults and everyone is very kind and friendly and the food in club house amazing

This is a well maintained course, greens are excellent even though they are massive.
Great course to play for all abilities, even though I got it for free I would happily have paid the full price. Special mention to the pro who was really friendly and helpful

Played here today and thought it was outstanding 👍👍 course in great condition and some fantastic holes. Bumped into a few members and they were friendly enough so previous reviewer might just have been unlucky and every club has them 😜 will play again soon 👍👍👍

We played here yesterday & sadly would never return!
What should have been a great days golfing was spoiled by some of the members, with one in particular, being extremely Rude, Inconsiderate & Discourteous to us!
We chose to play this course because it was designed by James Braid & we're on a mission to play all courses designed by him, the only thing spoiling this course is the attitude of some members here.
A real pity, because this undulating Parkland Course is great. All Tees & Fairways are immaculately manicured & the Greens are lightning fast. There is a Club House here which provides food but we decided to avoid this area due to the hostility we encountered during our round.
As to actually playing here …you're much better advised to enjoy other courses in the area like "Cowglen", a 'Gem' that's much more welcoming, friendlier & also of James Braid design rather than spend money at Williamwood!
We took advantage of a ‘Deal’ here & played for £20, the usual Green Fees are £40.

Most English, American & overseas golfers come to Scotland and want to play the Open Championship courses such as St Andrews, Troon, Turnberry etc. But these are all usually very expensive and usually involve a lengthy trip from their base hotel. Glasgow has many golf courses within easy reach of the City Centre hotels, and a round can be enjoyed for £30/£40. Ok, I'm biased and as a member at Williamwood, I am bound to sing its praises, but a great days golf can be enjoyed at many other Glasgow south courses, such as Pollok, Cathkin Braes, East Renfrewshire, Haggs Castle, Whitecraigs, Bonnyton & even Eastwood & Cowglen. Having played them all, the above list is in the order of my personal preverence.
The bar food in all in excellent, and will be affordable for everyone.
A warm welcome is usually the norm, as in these austere times, they all need the 'extra' income.
So if you are part of a group, negociate a discounted rate, and get the food included. You will probably be surprised at the deals you can currently obtain.
Just make sure Williamwood is on your list...you want be disappointed.
The bar food in all in excellent, and will be affordable for everyone.
