Went back to this fishery in November 2024 after several years absence/living elsewhere. Totally impressed, to the point were i thought a positive review was the best way of saying thanks! Really friendly welcome and advice from Owen and Joe who spent time chatting with me and took interest in how the fishing was going. They were really happy to accomodate me. The fishing experience was awesome. Whole fishery is very clean, seems well stocked with Rainbows and Goldies, I was mostly picking up fish in the 2-4lb range, the takes and fights were brilliant and the fish seemed well rested. Loads of fly life and both fly lochans are well maintained. Fish were feeding hard on all my visits and taking small naturals, buzzers etc, my best was 16 netted and 5 lost in 6 hours. Would recommend this fishery to anyone looking for good sport and a quiet setting. Looking forward to my next session

We stayed at a house on the estate for 4 days during October 2021. It was booked as a treat for my 50th birthday. We booked the house via Air B&B which we use extensively. The house is exactly as described, well located for Elgin and some stunning beaches on the moray coast and it has a great hot tub, large family kitchen, lounge and toilets. However, a few things to note:
1. if you want to do clay pigeon shooting I suggest that you book before your visit, although the welcome instructions say it can be easily arranged, it was too busy for our group to be accommodated as we only asked about it upon our arrival.
2. We were welcome to fish anytime but we really needed an instructor as we had not done it before, as we were not staying over a weekend this was tricky, so again best to plan ahead.
3. Although there is a dishwasher, the plates are too large for it, sounds silly but with a family of 5 it makes a difference!
4. The check out instructions and rules for the stay are extensive and include stripping beds (we do also pay a cleaning fee via air B&B), they were easy to follow but they seemed more copious than the other air B&Bs we have stayed at including during the pandemic.
5. There is no double bed at the property and we found simply pushing 2 single beds together a little uncomfortable, so would probably not re-book as my husband and I prefer to share a bed, but it is clear in the house description that this is the case.
6. The sofa bed downstairs which we used so that our children could each have their own space was a little uncomfortable resulting in our sons sharing a room - again another lesson learnt, we would not book accommodation without a proper bed for each of our children, sofa beds can be a bit hit and miss to be fair.
The owner was extremely responsive when contacted and helpful. However, we found the house a little 'clinical', compared to our other air B&Bs - for example we have always been left either a welcome basket with essentials in, or a personal note welcoming us. This is completely discretionary but always makes us feel like we are arriving at a home.
I think a few more home comforts would also help - perhaps more cushions, blankets etc and something to play music on, to make this house feel a little more welcoming.
It was lovely, clean, functional, well equipped, warm and exactly as described but not quite as homely and welcoming as our other air B&B experiences - please note that this is a very personal observation and I'm sure had we asked the owner for anything she would have done her best to help, I think we just prefer a more intimate experience.

Fantastic 4hrs catch & release . Caught on first cast & was non stop action. Lander 5 lost 3 missed too many to count ,follows right to bank. Outstanding fishery. 5 stars from me. (Previous troutmasters finalist.

I have used MIll of Kellas about 6 times now. Mainly because it's geographically handy for me to be honest. However, I would travel there anyway given how enjoyable it is.
Now, I have yet to catch a fish there, but I am new and have little skill. My friend often goes with me and can catch 3 - 6 in the same 2 hour period. One of these was a big monster that was double figures and tasted pretty damn fine.
There are two ponds you can fish. Both have a variety of shelter and while I spend a lot of time removing my hook from grass, reeds and other things the competent fishermen have no such issue. There is a point where the ground protrudes into one of the pond, giving 270 degree fishing arc.
If you have a wife or friend who is interested, I have also sees several different women here, which makes it one of only two places I can say that about.
My only word of caution would be to either time your visit carefully or take midge repellent. I had one of the most miserable fishing experiences of my life there providing a free meal to 750 million winged bitey things. My brother in law took repellent, and just laughed his ass off at me.

Simply the best simulated game day I have ever attended.
Superbly run from first welcome by Roy and he and his team were very skilled and attentive during the day.
Drives were just like the real thing, perfectly set out and very natural targets, the grouse were a great way to finish the day.
Lunch by Roy’s wife Vivienne was first class in great settings. True highland hospitality delivered by Dutch hosts.
I’ll be back to shoot here again!

Had an amazing days fishing with friends and family. We all caught fish all over the Lochan, including a fish about 8lb in weight by my 13 year old nephew. The trout were even rising for dry flies in the afternoon, but I continued to catch them on buzzers. The Fishery is a quiet and beautiful place to fish, and remember if you think you should be be guaranteed to catch fish, they would call it catching.

Looked forward to fishing this venue for the first time last week. Should have realised something was amiss when required to phone a number on arrival to get a ticket. When ticket was purchased asked to leave the "shop" because the person selling the tickets to my friend and I was about to be busy elsewhere.
I would say that due to weed about 95% of the fishery was unfishable due to excessive weed growth. I realise this has been a hot summer with much weed growth but either remove the weed (raking it out would do) or close the fishery. I have fished many fisheries in Scotland but this was probably my worse experience. Never again!!

Dear Ronnie,
I'm very sorry you had a bad experience with our fishery. There is not much I can do to take this negative feeling away but I will try to explain why this happened. When fishers arrive we tell them it is/was very difficult fishing and the catches where down because of the weather. We are a relatively smaller beautiful fishery with a good stock of fish and a lot of maintenance in place. Because we are also busy running the estate we don't have the time to have somebody in the shop during weekdays, only during the weekend. When people arrive during the weekdays they can call the number on the sign and start fishing after that. It has always worked for everybody and the upside is we can keep prices low. There is some weed because we try to keep the place as natural as possible and because of the weather but 95% is ridiculous. 5-10% is the number we keep it at.
Again i'm sorry with your bad experience but this review hurts us more then you know because we feel this is not accurate.

De Mill een prachtig schots huis met heerlijke boxmspring bedden een prachtig huis met alles erop en eraan. Met Viviane en Rob een geweldige week gehad. Een top huis en locatie.

Had an excellent days fishing with a friend at this great fishery. Clean and well laid out. My friend who had only fished a few years also had a great time and caught two. Cant recommend this place highly enough.

If you plan your visit on a Saturday or Sunday there will be somebody in the shop who can help you out with sweetcorn (mostly for free). During the week you're better off bringing your own because usually you start fishing after you call us on arrival and we catch you later for payment. Hope this helps!
