This was a wonderful Outlander Tour.. Everywhere Emma and Anne took us, they were greeted as old friends and we were as well. The only disappointment was not being able to go on the battleground at Culloden as it was pouring rain. But the tour inside the Visitor Center was so good it almost didn't matter. The last night was especially special as we were taken to The Toriphichen Inn. It was a perfect Scottish experience. And others on the tour would be appalled if I didn't mention how everyone loved Paul our tour driver.

In April I was able to secure the last spot for the September 5-day Outlander Immersion Tour. I wanted to see Scotland and, as a fan of both the Outlander books and TV series, I chose the Mary’s Meanders tour. This trip was my first solo trip abroad. Of the ten women in our tour group, five of us were solo travelers, three were sisters and two were friends. We all became friends and shared a wonderful week of adventure and fun. The itinerary was fantastic with a few surprises to add to the experience. The lodging was great and the meals were excellent! A week be for the tour, Emma informed us of an Outlander event taking place the weekend before our tour started and offered to meet any of us who wanted to attend. Three of us took the train from Edinburgh to Linlithgow and were met by both Emma and Anne who spent the afternoon with us at the event. This was the first of many “going beyond what is expected” we experienced with them. I highly recommend any of their tours as they are extremely dedicated to providing the best experience and value possible!

Emma and Anne were great tour guides. Very knowledgeable and engaging. Food service was great and all the experiences were top notch.

My sisters and I recently went on Mary's Meander's Outlander 5 day immersion tour with Anne and Emma from Mary's Meander's along with their drivers from Tayforth Travel, Paul and Bill. All were extremely knowledgeable and charming.
We traveled with a total of 10 avid(and fun :) ) Outlander fans. The historic and iconic locations were amazing but being able to recognize them as filming location in the Outlander series, aired on Starz and now shown on Netflix, made it even so much more interesting and fun!
Our home base accommodations at the vacation cottages were comfortable and spacious. It was a plus not to have to pack up and move each day.
We all parted with tears at the end and promised to keep in touch.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone that is an Outlander fan or a lover of Scotland.

I participated in the 5 Day Outlander Immersion Tour as a solo traveler with Mary's Meanders in September 2024. It was an Amazing experience! Our particular group included 3 sisters, 2 college friends, and 5 of us were solos (all ladies). We had the Best time visiting more than 20 filming locations, sharing meals together and accommodations at the cottages! Each having our own room within the separate cottages plus the common area to come together for breakfasts, dinner, and evening fun was wonderful. Emma and Anne do such a fantastic job planning all the details and keeping the group on track along with the great drivers, Paul and Bill. The bus was a very comfortable size and provided us with great views. Emma and Anne are very knowledgeable on all things Outlander and they include so much great history. We were shown exactly where the most iconic scenes took place with details on how they made it all come to life on screen. They made sure we had plenty of time to explore each location and get the best pictures. If that wasn't enough, having a private performance/ meet & greet with Gillebride MacMillan (the Bard) one night and a traditional Scottish dinner show on another were the icing on the cake! The memories we made on this trip will last a lifetime! I later realized just how valuable the added feature of our private social media group is when I didn't have that available on my next tour. Details are so important. We definitely came together as strangers but we all left as friends! I look forward to returning for an ancestry tour in the future. Thank you Anne & Emma!

Thank you for such a thorough & wonderful review of our 5 day tour. It was a great week and we love to see the group dynamics change from strangers to friends as you say & it all starts from a common love of Outlander!
Thank you again for booking our tour and we hopefully will have a reunion tour one day with everyone!

All the wonderful locations made my fading OUTLANDER memories come alive again! It was so magical, seeing the places where the cast walked & some of the sights they saw, as well. Emma & Anne kept things moving with lots of stories & photos of the original filming that they were able to see (including Diana Gabaldon's accompanying them to some of their stops). One evening, we had a wonderful piper & he & the owner/chef masterfully recited, ADDRESS TO A HAGGIS. Final evening we were blessed to hear Gaelic singer from Castle Leoch's gathering, Killebride MacMillan. It was like a private performance from such a talented, genial fellow. I'm still overwhelmed by all the memorable sights we saw. I'm definitely coming back to do some more fun things with these delightful & attentive ladies! A+

We spent 2 weeks in Scotland meandering around the country and by the end of our trip, we were happy to let Emma, from Mary's Meanders, take the wheel for the final day of our trip. Emma carefully went over each location prior to our trip to make sure we were able to see the iconic sites of Scotland as well as key Outlander filming locations. She gave us the history of all the sites and the areas we drove through and visited. Emma expertly guided us through/to Craigmiller Castle, Glenkinchie Distillery, lunch at a garden center, and Glencorse Kirk. She even found a way to fit in a quick visit to the Harley Davidson dealership to pick up some souvenirs for back home. We would choose Mary's Meander's in a heart beat for our next trip!

My husband and I were on our honeymoon for two weeks in the U.K. Before we left for this trip, I had researched things to do. My birthday would be during the time we were scheduled to be in Scotland and I wanted to do this tour as my present to myself! My husband was not looking forward to doing any tours, however, he humored me. We both thoroughly enjoyed our day with Emma more than any other tours or visits the entire two weeks. We made wonderful memories and just cannot get over how accommodating Emma was. She is so knowledgeable, easy going, flexible, and helpful. I’ve just printed and framed photos we took that day at all the wonderful locations. This was a one in a million adventure.

Our tour started in Edinburgh at the Queensferry Port, from the Regal Princess. Emma picked us up at the ship, and we started our tour. There were just my wife and me on our tour. We were trying to add additional people from the ship, but our failure was now our success. Having this tour now just us, let Emma adjust our tour to fit only our desires.
As we had traveled, Emma spoke of what to expect, and included her actual experiences visiting the actual filming of Outlander. We were so fortunate to have Emma’s experiences added to our visiting the many castles. She also had many pictures showing what the courtyards actually looked when filming the episodes. This immersed us into the scenes making us a part of the filming.
We could not have asked for a better person to be our guide. Emma even found the time to take us to the Kelpies. What are Kelpies? They are part of Scottish Folklore, dangerous water horses, found lurking near deep lochs or fast rivers. These Kelpies are made of structural steel with a stainless steel cladding, and are 30 meters (98 feet) high. This was a real treat to see them.
We will never forget the enthusiasm and graciousness of Emma. She took such good care of us, making sure we saw all we wanted and putting our tour together so well.

I really enjoyed seeing how much you loved seeing the Kelpies - they truly are spectacular!

Emma created a lovely private tour into the Highlands for our group of 9 and we had such a wonderful time! Dave was an excellent, knowledgeable guide and our driver Paul was wonderful. Truly fantastic day!

We leave from Linlithgow train station. It is a direct 20 minute journey from Edinburgh and we have videos in our FAQ section on our website on how to work the ticket machine!

We spent 9 hours with her and that included a lunch stop at a charming out-of-the-way pub.. There were just two of us with her that day and at each stop we had plenty of time to walk around, explore, take photos and ask questions. She is such a marvelous resource on Scotland's history and knows every detail of the Outlander books, too. I am only sorry that we could not spend another day with her.

Hi there, thanks for getting in touch. We use a Citroen Grand Picasso which you can see on our website in the Blog section or via the link on our Facebook page.
We generally have 4 or 5 on a tour but some days may have up to 8. In that case we use a mini bus to make sure everyone is still comfortable!
