Exceptional spa with clean modern facilities and super friendly staff. Couldn't fault the food or treatments. I'd definitely visit again

We spent a morning at the spa with a delicious brunch included. There's a good selection of facilities to use - at least 3 different saunas and 2 different steam rooms! The chill out rooms by the treatment rooms are super relaxing and I had the best treatment by Chelsea. Exceptional service including hand towel at the start of treatment and drying my wet costume during my treatment and a fresh dry robe after too. Perfectly pampered!

Beautiful spa and friendly staff. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor roof terrace and pool and sauna experience

We have just returned from an overnight stay at Rudding Park. I have to say that we were very impressed and loved every minute. It was my Birthday and I was made to feel very special with a room upgrade, chocolates in the room with a Birthday card and 2 free drinks in the roof top spa together with many staff wishing me Happy Birthday throughout the day.
We thought the Follifoot room was fabulous with a lovely bathroom and wished we could have spent longer in the roof top spa which was very relaxing. The food was tasty too.
Thank you to all the staff for looking after us so well, keep up the good work and we look forward to returning in the future.

We have been a regular here for last 5 years but sadly it’s not on its game now
It was great historically but over the last few years they just seem to have employed sixth formers to run it ( we are local so we now this is true ) they try ( the 6th formers) but when you are paying 5 star prices you expect staff with hotel training but not just enthusiasts kids
20% service on everything when you have to queue at the bar is ridiculous but if you try and cross it off you don’t get served next time … really ? So for example we had a standard bottle of Sauvignon..£41… but then £8.20 service when we had to queue at the bar to order and collect ? Really ?
Come on Simon mckaness , read this and please try harder ? The competition is too good these days so don’t live on your laurels ..

We have loved Rudding spa… this was our fourth visit and it’s always a special treat - birthday or Christmas present. However…. I had booked for a date in February for my husbands Christmas present and we had to change it - I phoned and explained to the customer service lady and she said she’d move the date and it would cost us £50 (£25 per person) as we wanted the same treatment, I went along with it but thought it was expensive …. I later found out we could have cancelled and rebooked for the dates we changed it to for free!!! Would have been nice if this had been pointed out!! Yes, we should have read the small print but you would think that out of politeness it would have been mentioned. I asked for the £50 to be refunded and was told it wouldn’t be.
So, we set off for our day last Saturday. The spa was packed, rowdy hen party meant all the experience rooms were full and all the indoor ‘sun beds’ were reserved so we had to go outside with other disgruntled guests and sit on wet cushions. The spa is tired. Jets in the main pool didn’t work. Jets in the hot spa pool didn’t work. We tried 3 foot spas - 2 didn’t work and had smashed buttons. We had booked the Rasul treatment which is lovely, however there was a pair of used disposable pants left on the floor of the treatment room along with an empty disposable pant bag - fairly grim. In addition the ceiling of the room was mouldy - not what you expect.
If you like Prosecco (who doesn’t in a spa) be prepared to be ripped off. £24 for 2 glasses and charged £2:40 service charge for the pleasure of going to get it yourself from the bar is frankly unacceptable, you can cross the ‘optional service charge’ off but when you do the staff glare at you.
When we paid the bill we were told we wouldn’t get an itemised bill but it sounded about right so I paid, when I checked my bank balance the next day Rudding had taken £141 from my account, without contacting me or providing any justification or authorisation which is just appalling. It has taken many emails to receive any correspondence, nobody has had the decency to phone me and nobody had responded to the comments about the tired spa and used pants in a treatment room - which is awful.
Sadly I agree with other comments that centreparcs is better.

I've been here a few times and have always loved it. After reading recent reviews I was a bit worried about my latest visit and wondered if things had gone downhill! I certainly didn't find that to be the case. I think I got lucky as it didn't feel busy at all, there are different packages available and if you go for a full day you notice that things are staggered well. People are constantly going for treatments and food. All staff were extremely helpful and welcoming and my facial was extremely relaxing. The escape rooms are so peaceful afterwards as well. I'm surprised to read negative reviews about the food, I found it delicious. I do love Asian food and think it's perfect light, healthy food for a spa day. Yes the drinks are expensive but you're drinking them in beautiful surroundings. I do agree with the other comments about excessive phone use. Especially in the infinity pool it seems silly. Just unwind and relax! I will be returning (without my phone 😉)

Wanted to visit for a long time and managed to get a cheaper full spa day on a Monday.
Pros:
Lovely facilities
Outdoor hydropool is amazing
Staff couldn't do enough for you
Amazing food
The best treatment
Cons:
Long wait in reception on arrival.
Way too busy! Couldn't get a lounger or in any of the facilities all morning. People also left towels on loungers all day, this shouldn't be allowed.
Locker system was a joke, both mine and my partners wouldn't work which meant a trip to reception too many times and when we got there staff didn't think to serve the dripping wet spa guest first so a long, cold wait was in store, not good enough!
Broken foot spas
Music in some of the rooms wasn't playing correctly
Some of the rooms just didn't make sense, why have a suntherapy room but a gloomy photo? Why have an audio room but it's only available 2-4pm?
Really expensive cocktails and extra courses - £16 a cocktail and £12 for a tiny dessert!
The kettles of fruit tea near escape zone were always empty
I definitely won't rush back and I wouldn't pay anymore than the cheaper day rate on weekdays, you don't get your money worth when it is so busy!

My daughter and I went for the full day spa mid March. I paid an extra £30 to upgrade to the full body massage. The spa facilities are excellent although it was extremely busy in the morning. We enjoyed the sauna ritual they did. We then had our massage in the morning. I explained my areas of concern neck shoulders and lower back. The massage began on my back and shoulders. Pressure was fine. Then the therapist did a quick back of keg massage. Them I turned over , missed my lower back completely. Quick front of legs massage. Neck massage then a head massage that consisted of one set of finger tips goung round four times then the other. Really boring. The whole thing felt rather perfunctory. The therapist also had a few long nails which didn't create a relaxing experience.
My daughter didn't even get a head massage and again it was just OK. Very disappointing.
We then headed off for lunch. Not masses of choice, I ordered pad Thai. My daughter asked if the tofu burger was spicy. The waitress said it wasn't so thst was ordered. Only to find it was indeed spicy. This was changed for a prawn pad Thai as my daughter doesn't eat meat. It arrived with prawn and chicken! We came to order dessert and was told because my daughter had had 2 main courses we would have to share a dessert. To which I was not happy about as the burger wasn't eaten. She did eventually bring us two desserts after I complained
Upon leaving we were asked if we wanted to pay a £5 gratuity for our therapists, had the massage been good we would have.
Rudding park has lovely facilities but the treatments let it down and the restaurant.
I wrote to guest relations a week ago and still haven't recieved a reply. Despite their 72 hour policy of replying. Good do better !

I've been to Rudding Park Spa a number of times (supper and spa package) but I have concluded it's losing its sparkle.
Rudding Park's Horto restaurant served very average food with limited choice. The focus was asian cuisine which wasn't very good.
The spa was also really busy and so felt a bit packed in. My biggest peeve was there were far too many people using their phones in the pool, hot tubs and even in the sauna!!! It's very intrusive and unsettling for guests who are trying to relax and unwind and you spend your time dodging the background of Insta selfies. The spa need to impose stricter rules around this.
In comparison, I recently visited Centre Parcs Aqua Sana and they absolutely smashed Rudding Park out of the park in terms of luxury, facilities, ambience, range of experiences, and affordable price and no phone policy.
Overpriced and underwhelming. Don't think I'll be rushing back Rudding Park.

Yes you can! Arrive early and go to the hotel reception with a bag packed for the spa.

The spa has an indoor swimming pool 17m x 6m and an outdoor swim in / swim out hydrotherapy pool 11m x 6m 37 degrees and an outdoor spa bath 4m x 4m 38degrees.
The Spa uses Carita, Ila, Elemental Herbology, Jessica, Natural Spa Factory and Jennifer Young.
