If you like watching films but don't like the experience of visiting cinema chains, here is an alternative that you would thoroughly enjoy. The Sherborne Cinema in Gloucester looks like a village hall from the outside, but inside is a welcoming and friendly atmosphere with an art deco design touch. The seats are salvaged from an old theatre but have lots more leg room. The sound and screen are excellent. They show the latest films, we saw Paddington in Peru.
A big shout out for Sam in the kiosk, who provided excellent customer service, providing fresh tea and coffee in mugs and then replenishing when I accidentally knocked my mug over - thank you Sam!
Please give Sherborne cinema a try if you are in the area.

Amazing little cinema. We had a blast. You can buy tea and coffee in a mug and take it in the screen with you. The facilities were very clean and the staff were lovely! What a beautiful place!

This is a fabulous local facility at a very affordable price, which means we can go to films we would not bother to see at a more expensive cinema. You can have a cup of tea and relax with excellent sound.
Sadly, and we assume it is a running cost issue, there are now Pearl and Dean adverts. We did like just being able to turn up and watch the film. But if it is a case of having them and keeping our cinema and not having the cinema we will put up with the adverts and still enjoy our local!

Little independent gem in Gloucester. Took the kids to see Elemental today. £21 for us including popcorn. Kids loved the old fashioned ticket and benign shown in with a torch. You can park right outside. Will be back next time I visit my parents in Gloucester.

A lovely vintage cinema on the outskirts of Gloucester - friendly staff, lots of leg room in the cinema, no adverts or trailers before the film, excellent sound quality. Good value for money for sweets, popcorn and drinks (china cups for tea, coffee and hot chocolate). Free parking/cash payments only. Well worth a visit - a refreshing, old- fashioned cinema experience.

Delightful.
Comfy, quaint, good quality - and actually a real bonus they have the blockbusters a few weeks after the mainstream cinemas, as can watch it at own leisure. Easy to get to, to buy tickets - refreshments available.
And all at a good price.

This is a fabulous local facility which just shows the film - no adverts or coming shortly - so the film starts at the advertised time. You can have a cup of tea and afford to go on a regular basis.

Small cosy old fashioned cinema. Top films, great fun, very reasonably priced and you can get a lovely cup of tea.

Hi. Is it possible to reserve seats online or by phone please?

Hi, Yes we now have online booking via ticket source. Please note that Ticket Source bookings guarantee admission but not specific seats or that large groups will be able to sit together. We therefore recommend coming early at busy times. We will always offer a refund if you are not happy with the available seats.
We thank you for your understanding as we do our best but cannot offer the sophisticated booking systems available in larger cinemas.
