Flew the Dams Raid route with pilot Paul, a great trip in an open cockpit Tiger. We followed 1943 Dams Raid training route, including Ladybower Reservoir. It is very humbling to realise that RAF crews flew that route in in 1943 in heavy 4-engine Lancasters, low level and AT NIGHT!
Vintage Flying people very professionally explained everything in advance and made sure everything was done safely. As a bonus I bought the live video package to replay the experience for myself and friends.

This was a 50th Birthday treat for my husband. He did the Lady Bower Dam package! The communication and organising a day was excellent. My husband thoroughly loved the whole experience making some wonderful memories. We bought the video and photo package too which was well worth it so we can now share the day with family and friends.

I took the 30 minute flight which was an absolutely joyful experience. My pilot Charlie was charming and knowledgeable and helped me enormously, explaining everything that was happening and giving an expert guided tour of the countryside below. I had the added and unexpected treat of flying in formation with the other Tiger Moth. The airfield itself is charming and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. I would recommend a visit and a flight. I am not an experienced flyer but I would certainly take another trip. A wonderful day out for myself and my family.

Absolutely brilliant experience. We, myself and Charlie, took off at 4.30pm for an hours flight and flew across towards the Peak District. And was lucky enough to be allowed to have control of the aircraft on much of the flight. The fine weather and the view made the flight one to remember. All the staff are all very friendly and welcoming.
It is great value for money. Many thanks to all the staff, in particular Aurora, a young lady who couldn't do enough for you, Charlie the pilot who took me up, and not forgetting all the ground staff who made it possible.

Absolutely fantastic experience, I took the Tutbury tour which was 30 minutes, all staff at Vintage Flying were friendly and welcoming, as was my pilot/instructor Kevin, to fly in a 1936 Tiger Moth was a truly unforgetable experience, to be allowed to take the controls even more so, in addition the weather on the day was perfect for flying and this only added to a truly pleaserable experience, so much so that I am now hoping to return in the future and complete the Dams tour flight which is longer in duration, cant thank Vintage Flying enough for this experience, only problem I have now is that I live approx 1 mile from the airfield and so see the Moths flying past regularly which makes me want to be up there again.

Brilliant day. I did the Dam Busters option. I enjoyed every minute of the 75 mins flight. Scenery was lovely flying over Chadwick House on forward to the dams
I was looked after by the guys and gals who made me feel welcome and relaxed. A special mention for Aurora , a young volunteer who is like a little dynamo doing one thing after another to make the visitors day as nice as possible.
Great value for money and a day not to be forgotten.
Once again many thanks for a super day.

The whole thing was ab/fab. From the flying jacket loan to actually controling the old Tiger moth biplane. Charlie,the pilot, sitting behind me took on the challenge to reach the y,not festival at Ashbourne. My son was in the crowd below. I waved in vein I thought as Charlie took back control. But the next day my son sent me a photo of himself and my biplane above his shoulder. Can't thank these pilots enough.. It didn't end there either, we had an exemplary mini tour of the repair shop. So will I do this again.... ? Absolutely, for my 70th... Soon 🥰

This was an experience beyond compare. The team made me and my family very welcome and couldn't have been more helpful. There is a great seating area which gives a brilliant view of the runway and all the preparations for the flight. Being kitted out in a flying suit and sheepskin flying jacket made the experience even more realistic. Plenty of photos were taken before the flight and Priscilla, the Tiger Moth, was fitted with video cameras so that the experience can be relived! The pilot, Joe, was great and made the experience even better by allowing me to take control. I still haven't stopped grinning!

Had the best day today with these guys.
I bought my Dad a flight over the dams for his 70th. Sadly the date we had chosen back in June had to be postponed due to the weather. I was contacted 2 days before and was explained to that the weather forecast wasn't looking great and they didn't feel it would be safe. The lady I spoke with was so friendly and kind. Rebooked us straight away and nothing seemed too much trouble.
Well today was the day. I had received emails saying all seemed well to go ahead but I was left contact details for us to double check if needs be.
We arrived and were made to feel so welcome right from the get go. Even the dog was made to feel welcome.
There's a perfect outdoor area to sit where you can enjoy a picnic or you can sit in doors if you wanted.
My dad had the best time. The photos that were taken were fantastic and despite the last 10 minutes of the video failing (of which there was profuse apologies for) the most important part of the trip was perfect video.
Everyone there were just amazing and really made my dad's day feel so special.

We bought the tigermoth flying experience for our dads 70th birthday and it couldn't have been more perfect for him. The staff are all wonderful, which just added to the experience. Dad finished his flight pretty speechless (until we were on our ways home) but with the biggest grin.
