St Giles is a very friendly, welcoming, modern church.
The building itself is very old, but inside its incredibly modern.
There isn't much parking, they do have a very small carpark but you mainly park on the roads outside the church.
They have seats instead of the wooden benches & they even have single, unisex toilets, I did ask someone why this was and got told 'so theres no embarrassment or awkwardness if you are identifying as a different sex, but might not feel confident enough to use a that toilet - this in itself impressed me as most church's nowadays are massively anti anything like that.
So when it says 'everyone welcome' on the door, here they really do mean it.
They hold a morning service on a Sunday from 10 am.
They have various groups on during the service to keep children entertained;
Theres a Crèche (0-2.5s) that is available from the beginning of the service. It's located within the Church itself.
All other children aged from 2½ & over stay within the Church for the first 15 minutes of the service, theres then a short break whilst the children all go over to the Church Centre; There's various groups for different ages; Scramblers (2.5s-4s), Climbers (4-7s) & Explorers (7-11s)
You then go and collect your child after the service.
There's also no obligation to use any of those clubs, you can simply stay within the church.
After the service they have have refreshments (tea, coffee, cake etc) which is all completely free.
The rest of the congregation then tend to mingle and chat with one another.
If you stay for the refreshments some people will also come over and introduce themselves, the vicar will also introduce himself and thank you for coming... you don't get integrated, asked why you're there or about your beliefs .
You can also, obviously leave straight after the service, they're not pushy and make you stay.. you can basically do as you please.
The church itself is closed during the week, so you can only go inside on a Sunday when the services are on.
The grounds are open tho as they do have a very small cemetery you can visit.

My wife and i walked into the church at easter for the 10.30 service and was greated by a wonderful bunch of people. Friendly...open...honest and Mr Barber the vicar has been very caring to all our needs. We have been going most sundays since that day. Come say hello..we will be sitting at the back on the left.

The present church dates from 1861 and replaced a medieval chapel, it was further enlarged in 1902 to what it is today.

There is a small car park for which we try to give priority for people with special needs and the elderly. But there is lots of parking on Village Street and neighbouring residential streets - please be kind to our neighbours. :-)
