Popped in after work . Lovely public house you would not think it was in a town. More like a county pub. Friendly staff

Another lovely night at the Malt.. we visited with a group of friends for food and drinks. Amazing service from Hannah and as always the food was delicious. Such a fantastic atmosphere. We all had different meals and each one perfection. Highly recommend The Malt Shovel.

We booked in advance as I had hear it was busy for sunday lunch. An easy walk from Dartford Centre, The Malt Shovel is a traditional pub, friendly welcome, ordered some drinks and we were shown to the table. They only do roasts on a Sunday, and the three of us went for the beef. Great choice, a proper sunday roast with crispy roast potatoes, something rare to find in a pub, good yorkshire pudding, well cooked selection of vegetable and an excellent cauliflower cheese. Dessert was chocolate brownie ice cream slice that my daughter loved, and my wife and I shared the deep filled apple pie with ice cream and custard, all three of us loved it and are looking forward to going back and trying the other main menu. Thank you to all the friendly staff at The Malt Shovel for a really good lunch.

My first visit to this pub. On Sunday you can only get roast dinners and they are very good indeed. We were a party of 9 plus a baby and a toddler , the meats were excellent as were the vegetables especially the potatoes and all portion sizes more than ample . Don't miss out on the cauliflower cheese !
Deserts are also good if you like chocolate.

Absolutely stunning roast lunch! I had beef, partner had lamb, kids had chicken. Beautiful meats, perfect garden to eat in and very helpful friendly staff! Much cheaper than expected too. Will be back.

We had a joint 30th and 60th party here and it was fantastic. Staff were wonderful and friendly and they'd ensured there was plenty of bar staff working.
They even set out a table and included Cutlery and napkins as we were providing our own food.
As it was August it was quite warm but we were cooled down with the air con.
Would definitely recommend holding a party here.
About 10 of us came back the following day for the Sunday roast, it was delicious.

We were a party of 14, we booked well in advance but even so other venues struggle to cope with this number. NO PROBLEMS at the Malt Shovel. The service was excellent and the food was lovely. I truly enjoyed every minute.

A bit noisy and too crowded for my liking, but probably a good pub for the younger set. OK for small do's or birthday parties where noise is expected..

This is a nice old fashioned pub near to Central Park. Service is good and There is a nice outdoor area.

Excellent beer, none of this watered down rubbish which you seem to come across from time to time. Beer garden is so relaxing on a sunny day when you've had a hard day at work.
