‪Family day out in a lovely area‬

‪Great family time was had by all. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was lots to do. Our little one enjoyed the craft activity , tractor ride and the kinetic sand. The animals were fascinating and looked well cared for. The food in the café was okay- a little overpriced for what you got but really appreciated that you could get a dairy free ice later in the day as one of our party cannot eat dairy products.‬

‪ I highly recommend anyone who loves animals and nature to go. It's great for couples, family's, or even solo.
The sites, area and animals, everything was wonderful. I couldn't have had a better day out, it was magical and fun!
You can explore the woods and nearby facilities, and the people who worked there were so friendly. The map was easy to follow and there was so much to do and see. If you would like to feed the animals its only £1 for a bag of feed, and I loved the fact they hand you a sheet of which animals you can and can't feed as it just shows how truly cared for the animals are. I will definitley return! Thank you for all the work you do, this truly is a lovely place to go.‬

‪Not set up for large volumes of visitors‬

‪Really poor experience on Mothers Day at this place.
A poor entry system, clearly not set up for large volumes of visitors. Queued nearly 40 minutes to get in after an hour drive to get there.
No car parking so back up the hill to the overflow to walk back down to where we’d come from to check in.
The tractor and barrel rides were additional cost, but my daughter did enjoy them.
Another 30 mins queue for a coffee out of an instant machine- costing £6. It appeared the facilities were run by teens who had not had much training or experience. I felt a little sorry for them trying to manage frustrated customers.
Won’t be returning here- needs a lot of work to bring it on par with similar places in the north west.‬

‪Not worth a visit.‬

‪Firstly it took 26 mins to get in. 26 mins waiting on a steep hill in a long line of cars.
I have visited here a few times and never come away before feeling so sorry for the animals.

First of all not sure why dogs are allowed.
We witnessed two dogs barking at the meerkats and scaring them! They ran inside away from the dogs. Dog owners are also to blame here.

Emus had a muddy and small pen.
Same for the pens inside one bull was quite grumpy
In his small pen and don't get me started on the poor European owl!! On the wall connecting to his enclosure is a basket ball net which balls bang and bounce LOUD against the wall. That poor owl having to put up with that all day. Not very natural for the owl is it

A lonely goat with two metal posts holding up solar panels in the middle of his small field.
All the animals looked miserable and their pens too small. Three alpacas and a family of goats squashed in one pen! Seemed too small for them.

All we could smell was the burger van as well all day. £5 for 2 ice creams is also extortionate.‬

‪Great day out‬

‪Visited during Feb half term. We had a great day, lots of animal to see and lots of things for the kids. The barrel ride was great and we loved the tractor ride through the park where we seen emus up close. Great day out.‬

‪Called here as we kept Wild Boar our selves. So it was interesting to compare set ups with the double fencing etc. Very well kept and very clean area.‬

‪I’ve read some really lovely reviews about this place but in all honesty, I cannot write the same. We came in October over half term. On the upside, we didn’t have to queue long to enter. We parked up and saw one boar near the entrance and a very friendly man who was doing the tractor ride came over and spoke at length. We then took my grandson to have his face painted which he was very happy with, It was downhill from then on. The food outlet was pricey and food and drink below standard. The paths around the park were muddy and slippery. The emus were hungry and they had hardly any grass in their paddock and then the poor lone ostrich was in this tiny completely muddy paddock, slipping as he walked and covered in mud. He was also starving! In my view, this is animal cruelty! The overall standard of the park is very poor and considering the name of the place, there weren’t that many “wild” boar. I would not visit again.‬

Thankyou Anne for your review and comments. Unfortunately your review is slightly different in tone to most we receive, however we note you visited on a wet October week, when admittedly the grassy areas were well trodden from visitors over Halloween week celebrations. All reviews are read by management and we do try to improve on things that are mentioned. The emus and ostrich are checked regularly, every two weeks by our vets so are fit and healthy; they feed from self dispensing hoppers which dispense dry food and they are topped up daily. The paddock of course will be muddy during the autumn/wintertime and all our animals are well looked after and safe. Our wild boar tend to hide in their natural habitat / forest areas so you have to look very carefully, but we usually have approximately 15 to 25 wild boar there.

‪Have been quite a few times now, and every time it’s been brilliant. Never feel we’ve over paid for a day out, and facilities always up to standard.
Toilets a little chilly, but always clean!
Staff pleasant and make a huge effort with children, especially the man who drives the tractor and the barrel ride.
The gift shop is the most reasonably priced I ve witnessed at a family attraction, and it’s lovely that you don’t have to “exit” through it to leave! (Anyone with children will understand!)
Please don’t change, just keep up the hard work!‬

‪I don't often write reviews but I really feel I want to give a heads up to this gem of place and its really lovely staff. Our boys, aged 2 and 5 just love it here and, despite its name, ask if they can go to 'the cow place' because of the life size plastic cow in the barn! There's plenty to keep them happy and this weekend they particularly enjoyed stroking a snake and holding a chick in the education centre. The young staff in there were really enthusiastic and you could tell they wanted the boys to enjoy the animals as much as they did. We also went on the tractor ride round the forest this time (an extra £2 per head on the £9 admission price for over 2s and adults) and we were really impressed with Rory our driver who really knew his stuff and clearly enjoyed his job and making people happy - thank you Rory :) It just has a lovely family run feel and very reasonably priced too I think when you consider all that's on offer. Well done team and I'm sure you'll see us again in the not too distant future :)‬
