For info. The windmill sails were removed for restoration, most of 2022 and currently (Feb 2023) the sails are still missing.

Can’t see anywhere to say that there’s no sails on this windmill. Travelled a long way and was so disappointed. Can anyone tell me when they will be replaced??

I was blown away by the windmill. It really sent my head in circles trying to comprehend the blissful views. I would highly recommend wearing a liverpool shirt while travelling to the windmill.

This windmill is located on a hill between Leamington Spa and Gaydon. The views of the countryside here are stunning. The farmland that surrounds it is very English. The main field below in the direction off Warwick, was the site of a small Roman Town of Chesterton, located next to the Fosseway.

Disappointed. The blades to the windmill have been removed so we disappointed when arrived not the see e windmill in its former glory. Also no information board about the history of the mill.

Lovely walk up to the windmill on a grassy path with a slight incline, beautiful views from the top and the windmill is delightful. Plaques with historical information all together lovely place wish I had taken a picnic to have sitting on the grass admiring the views. It’s also free!

Beautiful windmill set back from Leamington and Warwick, a nice half hour here admiring the rolling fields. Recommended to go at sunset for some stunning photos.

This was part of our visit to Leamington Spa. Although it was hard to get there from the first time because of the sat nav's directions which took us to a private road,it was worth visiting.
The place was so quiet and peaceful,lots of butterflies and bees,the closest you can get to nature. There were handful of people there,some sunbathing ,some just sitting and enjoy the view,some coming just for the silence and the buzzing noises of the bees. We really enjoyed being there.

Hi can you walk to it from leamington spa town. Or is it mainly road and no paths.

Me and my friends cycled there and it took about 1 hour. If you are thinking about walking there i would bring a sleeping bag and a few comfy pillows because you are going to be in for a long night.

Hi. I live in Brisbane Australia and will be staying in Stratford-upon-Avon for a week next month, my first visit there. Will catch the train to Leamington Spa to spend the day there. Is it possible to walk from the town to the Chesterton Windmill?
What are the other 'Must See Attractions' while I am visiting for the day?

No, it's too far to walk along main roads. You could get a bus from Leamington to Harbury and walk from there, or a taxi to get you to the lay by from which it's a 10 minute walk. Don't miss Charlecote Park while you're staying in the area.

Hi, Just want to know the nearby car park - Maps I can see some parking on Road - Is this free or I need to get a ticket for the same.

Parking in the lay by on the road is free. It's a 5 minute stroll up to the Windmill itself which you can walk up to at any time of day.
Can you use disposable BBQ's on the surroundings?

I should'nt think so as it's in the middle of a farmers field and a noted Roman site.

I have check for you but there isn't any public transport the best way is get taxi from leamington spa which is just 10 minutes away for the price of 10 pounds .
