We have one of the world's largest collections of Trade Union banners, and we are particularly proud to be the home of the oldest banner in the world. Although we touch on the struggles of Manchester people, we are the national museum of democracy, telling the wider story of political, social and labour campaigning and reform. We are also led by our collection, which is less focused on popular culture such as music and sport, and more on the labour movement, trade unions and political parties.
