‪So we take our daughter to balance biking here every Sunday and WHAT A FIND!! The track is awesome! The place in general is so cool but the staff make this place!! I had a hiccup on the app booking my daughters classes and spoke with A Ricketts (Amber) and she sorted everything within minutes! She helped in such a professional, quick and understanding manor it just made our experience booking classes so much was easier!!

Shout out to A Ricketts, Natasha and Warren who work the Sunday reception (I think that’s their names!?) and the lad who runs the balance bike classes!

You guys have some special going here and we are so pleased we found you!!

Amazing place and amazing staff!!

I hope your bosses know what amazing team members you are to this place!!

‪58 and felt like a kid again. Quite intimidating when you first see the WALL but after excellent step by step instruction from Len my confidence grew,

To be able to use an iconic sporting arena at such an affordable price with equipment included was fantastic.

Thanks as well to Mike the manager who went out of his way to show me around.‬

‪Friendly staff. great that bike hire and kit is included in price. The website on mobiles isn't great to use, needed to use a laptop to book. ‬

‪Absolutely scandalous cannot book anywhere on the app or on the phone to call it a national cycling is a joke do not buy any vouchers or telephone because you are wasting your time and money‬

‪Abysmal customer service.‬

‪Trying to contact this centre is impossible. There is no direct contact number for anyone with vouchers. They’re happy to take our money for vouchers but they cannot give us an easy time booking them in! Absolutely ridiculous. You have to email them and then someone calls you a few days later. There should be a phone number that we AS PAYING CUSTOMERS, call so we can TALK to someone. The app is awful, no one I know can work it and we are told that we have to use the app no matter what. Considering driving 100 miles just to book it in person. It’s impossible. How can I contact this stupidly ran centre? Because I cannot call.‬

‪Great venue, loved both visits‬

‪We visited to watch the national championships this year and enjoyed the Saturday night session, having never seen it live, we thought that we would try it. The only issue could be parking but on this occasion, we parked a short walk away on Manchester Citys Etihad stadium car park.
This whetted my appetite and I decided to sign up for a taster session as a birthday treat in March 2020, again, had a great day and had booked another session but due to the Covid 19 situation, all activities were suspended.
It's easy to find fault with most things if you look hard enough, I can only say that in my experiences at the Velodrome, everything that I experienced was good, from the reception staff, security, car park attendants, the coach and cafe staff, all helped us have a fantastic time, what seemed to come across was that they all seemed happy in their respective roles and proud of what they do. Hopefully I can come back soon and start my post lockdown accreditation plan.‬

‪Nice Velodrome, Plan your journey carefully‬

‪We went to the velodrome to see the National Track Championships which were held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Situated in the centre of Manchester it is not the easiest place to get to so we decided to go on Sunday afternoon expecting it to be the quietest of the three days. The National Cycling Centre does not have a public car park which is very poor. They use the Manchester City car park about 10 min walk away. We were informed a few days before the event that Manchester City were playing at home and we could not use the car park although some parking was available at a near by site (at a cost). Given that the football match started at 1.00 pm and the velodrome opened at 12.30 we decided to arrive at 1.30 just before the racing started and when hopefully all the fans were in the stadium. We were also told that at the end of the match all the roads are closed for an hour so that is another situation to take into account. Given the paucity of parking we used the train to Piccadilly, then the Metrolink to the Velopark which is about a 10 min walk to the Centre. The racing was well organised and the temperature was about 26C, arranged as best for the cyclists. Food was very limited, with outlets selling burgers, jacket potatoes and such. No sandwiches were available and several outlets had crossed off tea and coffee from their menu. The best option is to use the Asda store across the road. The martials were not local and couldn't direct us to the tram spot, a bit of training would not go amiss. In conclusion, bring your own food and plan your journey carefully‬

‪Velodrome Taster‬

‪Just come back from my second taster at the velodrome and had a great time. I did one a similar time last year so as more than 6 months had elapsed I had to go through the "training" again. I should say I throughly enjoyed my session last year but this one was far better in that our coach was far more relaxed and let us get on with gentle guidance, rather than long lecturing and reading the rule book that we got last time. Tha'ts not to say he just let us get on with it as he had a careful eye on everyone and offered advice and support when required. This meant we got far more laps in than last time and far more relaxed and enjoyable. The downside to the extra laps is that its genuinely hard work so more laps means more effort. The only issue I can see is that I feel the gift vouchers are a bit of a rip off, as I understand they are over £20 whereas the cost for a mid-week session is £13. The voucher says you are entitled to helmet and bike hire but that is also included in the standard cost. Having said that I think the cost is great value and even at £20 its worthwhile doing. I'm now going to invest in some Look cleats as that will save the cost of shoe hire next time I go. If you enjoy cycling definitely worth a go!‬
